Go to Poland - most universities organize courses of Polish for foreigners, I think they are more recommendable than any language school. Most of these organize summer courses as well - I think it's the fastest way to learn the language as it's really difficult. I wouldn't advise you to get a text book, you need a teacher to explain you the basic stuff, otherwise you'll get discouraged in the middle of the second page. If you insist on doing it on your own, try online bookshops offering textbooks for foreigners. Don't forget to buy CDs as well, pronunciation is tough, too. Good luck!

I've just started doing this in various ways because i had to translate a publicity poster into Polish very quickly. My next door neighbour is Polish, which helps, and i bought a cheap Polish magazine and have started to piece it together. I'm also going to look for TV or video clips in Polish on Youtube and Polish media websites.

Also - check Ebay as I saw recent auctions for software.

Talk with Polish people. They are quite approachable and will happy you are taking an interest in their language. One at work taught me a bit of Russian. I'm sure he was Polish, really.........oh well, I think he has a Polish passport, so that's alright, ain't it ?

Polish is a surprisingly easy language to learn.
Get some books and tapes from your local book shop.

You've already stated that you have a bi-sexual Polish girlfriend that is 18 years younger than you. Why not ask her? Oh yeah, because she doesn't want you to know what her dyke mate and her are saying. Get an English bird you fool!

You could visit your library and pick up books that instruct you on learning it. Or you could order one of those Rosetta Stone things, if they have it available. It's supposed to work really well
