Tell the nurses when you check in that you want all guests to check at the front desk before coming to your room. They check in with the nurses and if they're not on a list, they don't get in.

I had to do this with my youngest daughter. Meddling former in-laws.

It will work better if you have NO visitors except your husband. This is a time when you need to bond with your new baby not have a party as so many people do with ten people around. Hospital personnel need to tend to important things so it is easier if you say a blanket no visitors than if they have to see a woman coming in and wonder if this is the one you do not want to see! You need quiet and rest and privacy for this incredibly precious time. And next time, say that your due date is a month further than it really is so you wont have to call people and tell them everything. Concentrate on your husband.

Having a new baby is a great time for you to bury all those old family fueds and start fresh. Your grandmother is obviously not going to be around forever, so maybe you should let her at least meet her great grand child. If you are old enough to have a child then you are old enough to stop acting like one. Nothing she has said or done is so bad as keeping a great grandchild from an older person.

you don't even have to do that. when u get there ask to speak to the nurse MANAGER....tell them that u want any and all visitors to be approved prior to them coming to your room. also, you could use an alias just while ur in there or tell them when u register to put ur info to private. any and all are affective. this limits the information that they can give out to callers.
