questions are from teenagers? Everytime I see one I cringe! Is it just me?

Yes, I find it depressing that about 1/4rd of all questions in that section goes something like "I just had unprotected sex with my boyfriend last night and I feel kinda dizzy, could I be pregnant?"...

This is why we need sex education.

Yes, I cringe too. Its really unfortunate that girls become sexually active before they are mature enough & responsible enough to protect themselves from the consequences. A very young girl has plenty of opportunities for sex without the perceived access to birth control. Can you imagine an 11 y/o going to Planned Parenthood asking for the pill? Yet, sadly, there are plenty of 11 y/o's having sex.

My answer isn't so much an answer as a response to kokochin's answer:

How sexist is it that you comment only on the female role in the teen pregnancy debate? Young girls who end up pregnant don't do so by themselves! At the same time that we push our daughters to say "No," to be mature and responsible, and to value themselves and their bodies, ought we not to be teaching our sons that objectifying girls and women is wrong, that smart, strong girls really don't threaten them, and that they, too, can (and should) say no, be mature and responsible, and respect themselves and the girls we think they want to sleep with? I am so sick of listening to people talk about how we need to keep our girls all virtuous and virginal... why? so perverted old men can violate them rather than perverted young boys? No. BOYS and MEN could be a bit more virtuous and virginal, too...

This conversation needs to change. It is so steeped in our over-sexualized, sexually stereotyping culture, and it's about time boys and men pony up and be responsible when it comes to sex, too! NO GIRL OR WOMAN GETS PREGNANT BY HERSELF! How 'bout we start holding BOTH PARTIES accountable?! Not just the perceived stupid, trashy girl?! How 'bout the manipulative, aggressive boy?!

I think I'd worry more if it was coming from a 12 year old, personally. But yeah, they make me cringe too. I'm not sure which is more distressing - the possibility of them being way too young, or the possibility of them being way too stupid to have kids.

well i think that it is true because sexually active teens are still figuring life out and are not the most responsible people.. if you are out of college and starting a life its not as bad to be pregnant ... but if you were a freshman in high school its different... And there is also periods the older you are the more consistent your period is... when young girls first start having sex their period goes Coocooo!! If you are having that problem i would recommend birth control.

The "could I be pregnant" questions have to come from someone young, mentally or physically. Anyone "mature" knows how to protect themselves in order to prevent pregnancy to begin with. Why ask a room full of Yahoo! Answers addicts when you could be taking a home test or going to a free clinic to find out? It must not be that big of a concern.

Yes, they generally are...because anyone older would have the common sense to not ask on here, as NO ONE is going to be able to tell you especially if they don't know you! Sheesh.

Yeah...I do get that impression that a lot of them are teenagers; and then a lot of them come from jokesters too.
