We have no real traditions because our family is far-flung and spread out over a vast area. Thanksgiving dinner will simply be a turkey made by me and devoured by my kids.
However, the fun starts the next day, when we put up our Christmas tree, order a pizza, and watch Christmas Vacation. It's how we kick off the holiday season. We've been doing this for 16 years now, and it's more fun each and every year.

I don't really have a Thanksgiving tradition, but, I like the answers I've read so far(except for one; it's a simple question that requires a simple answer people!). It's good to see that some of us look forward to more than just eating! LOL! That in itself, thumbs up to everyone...Yes you too Hector!
Happy Thanksgiving!

We are Christian and Hispanic. We do not celebrate thanksgiving. My family feels that we get together every other Saturday.....all of us and we have dinner, socializing and a good time. So we are think full every day for what we have. We do not get together on one day to it.

We read Psalms 100: 3 & 4...........
My Grandmother did it and it continues in our families.
We also go around the table telling our most memorable thanksgiving stories (always different with new guests!) and what we are thankful for. I try to keep the focus on God that way --- before the football, etc. begins.........

Going to church and being with family.
God is still with me however most of my family is gone.
My parents and grandparents have all died, and me and my other six cousins all live scattered all over the country.
Up until high school, we all lived within 25 miles of each other.
Now my closest relative is my first cousin who lives 120 miles away.
Of the six of us we live in:
Sarasota - Orlando - Chicago - Oshkosh - San Francisco and one is missing and I almost never hear from her. I don't know where she lives.
The mother of my children ran off more than ten years ago and that doesn't help either.
Through it all, Jesus has been faithful.

Absolutely none. I find the whole Thanksgiving just a big excuse to stuff yourself with a dry turkey and cranberry pie. And this in itself wouldn't be so bad if the next month there wouldn't be even BIGGER excuse to stuff yourself with a dry turkey and a cranberry pie.

We have a nice prayer before we eat, spend time with family that we normally dont see. Then afterwards we have coffee and talk about new things that have been happening to us.
