As a father of daughters some of the disgusting answers really sicken me. I hope you all have daughters and see how you feel then.
Anyway, yes. If you believe this is an acceptable direction for discipline in your house then it is the same regardless of sex of the child. The important thing about it is that it only works for younger children as a deterrent (which is what it should be used for) and then it is no longer useful. So weather a board, belt or hand it should not be abusive but stearn and make a point for the child.

There are many parents (fathers and mothers) who still practice corporal punishment. Many believe that they were raised by the cane and turned out just fine thank you very much. But there are some that continue to go overboard and as such turn this valuable life experience into a form of abuse. The government has far too much control in how children are being raised and many folks are afraid to even raise their voices to their kids today. Corporal punishment can work if the child is willing to learn and respect their parents. But if the child is not ready, wiling of able to see that this form of parenting is being used for their benefit then it is of no consequence.

I am a firm believer in corporal punishment. I spanked both of my sons and we moved to a small community where the teachers still paddle. We wanted that for our sons. That is one of the problems with America, and we live in an awesome country, but the left wing liberal agenda has done no favors when it comes to making kids take responsibility for their actions. Everyone is not a victim and people need to be made responsible. I am not saying beat them, but a good spanking never hurt anyone.

Depending on the age of the daughters, I'd say many do. A flat palm on the rear to those who really do something wrong enough to deserve it should be appropriate to girls under 10.

Sorry to say yes.People forget that once they had been a child.
I hope once we learn how should we treat our children & then decide to be a parent , who deserve to have children. Those who will grow up & then could be our best friends instead of enemies.

my husband does IF they do something to warrent it. He does it with his hand after he has a talk with them about what it is they did wrong. Then they lean over his knee and they get 3 total and he always makes them sit on there bed for about 10 mins after then he goes in and again has a talk with them about what they did wrong. Then he hugs them and tells them he loves them. They are learning respect for he and I

That's wrong especially to their daughters as there is the risk of sexual connotations, and sexual abuse. Report it to Social Services.
