Obviously, I'm only semi-serious here.. but, there's certainly SOMETHING in our nature, to be hooked by our own imaginations, by a thought/image of an Avatar that's struck the right cord. Without naming-names, there's 3-4 that I'm infatuated over (but with me, it just manifests itself as their being pleasing to the eye). OK, here I go Free Associating now.. but, I wonder how easily & how deeply a 14-year old boy or girl would/could fall though... the more I think about it, the more their should be a verifiable AGE stamped on everyone's icon? no?)

I totally know where you're coming from!!!! Some of the avatars guys come up with are really hot!! (Especially if they're witty or funny!)
I also give them a thumbs up for stuff they say, whether it's good or not. Most of my contacts have won me over simply with how genuine, sweet, and helpful they are. (I love my contacts!!!) I think we find them so attractive because they are an idealized version of people, and everyone has their own ideals right? The only thing is....do they look like that in real life? I doubt it in most cases, because of the whole ideal thing, but others... just make me wonder.

Not at all. People can pretend to be anyone or anything they want with this form of communication. Certainly there are some that are very attractive however to state that I am either falling for them or infatuated in any way sounds very immature to this old guy.
