It's kind of obvious it's an attack on Science education in fear that science literacy undermines religious belief. There's no history at all of scientists or science teachers trying to push science education into Sunday School classes, or Seminary.

I wonder that myself.

I also wonder why they push "abstience only" education when CLEARLY it is not effective. Sex ed should be about doing it safely and protecting yourself, wether it be protection OR abstinence (sorry about the tanget)

Just like science should remian... science. Spiritualality and science dont mix.

Many Christians would like the concept taught concurrent with evolution to give students a choice. I follow Jesus, however my "jury is out" on whether or not this should happen in a goverernment-funded public school. I do think that I would teach this in my home. If my child spoke up in class, I would expect that his/her beliefs to be treated with respect, the same as any other child. It's okay to use your mind and to disagree if the element of respect is present, regardless of your belief system. This is how young minds are challenged and how they grow.

For evidence of why it would be in thier benefit, look no further than Saudi Arabia. They have religious police. They have over 20,000 people imprisoned on convictions for 'sorcery'. they have tons of other crazy laws too numerous to list here. The benefit- ignorant low class held in check by the ruling elite. All the wealthy Sauds come to America or England for thier education. They drink, smoke, gamble, own luxurious toys and party. Then they go home and preach down to the poor to work hard, have nothing, and hate America. Modern day televngelists.

My question is, why do non-Christians insist on forcing humanism into science class rooms? The courts have ruled that humanism is a religion, and evolution is a teaching of the humanism. We are clearly establishing a state religion in violation of the first amendment. Evolution has never been proven to be a fact. As far as I know, no one has been able to build a cell from chemicals, yet we are to *believe* that it happened by accident? Yea, right. Evolution is so unscientific, it's laughable. It requires much more faith than Creation every could.

What's happening is that some religious leaders do not believe in evolution. Some have concocted a pseudo-science called "intelligent" design, that purports to show that a Biblical view of Creation is actually science. They wish to substitute there ersatz theory for one that has been repetatedly shown to be substantiated in order to remove the contradiction, not between faith and religion, but rather between a literal interpretation scripture and science.

The problem isn't about science and religion, but between science and literalism in Christian scripture.

Because creationism is so well funded, they are able to pull the wool over the collective voters' eyes and get pro creationist politicians elected. They're experts at using folksy analogies that sound great but really are strawman attacks, false dilemmas, or downright incorrect. The problem is, the folksy analogies sound really good, even if they're inappropriate, and your average layperson has such a poor grounding in logic/science (thanks to our wonderful education system) that they can't tell the difference.

All religion is c rap.I hate them all. They try and force-feed our children this shite about some 2000 year old book thats never been proved. If we were created in God's image and God is Love, then why is the world so ****** up,with perverts, murderers and people's obsession for money, power ect, which I don't think is exactly what the 'Bible' tells them they should be doing.
I'm sick of people hiding behind religion and USING it for their OWN ends.Get out from behind your fluffy white cloud and start THINKING FOR YOURSELVES!!
Sorry,I know this doesn't answer your question, but my daughter's mother and her family have descided to take me to court. Why? Evolution can basically be shown if we had a time device to pass returned and witness it. actuality No, absurdity. What you think approximately data or data for evolution I evaluate it to be incontrovertible data for creation. So the hoop species, observed, documented and examined, that teach evolution previous any doubt is a few how creationism in hide? all of us have an identical data - we draw separate, yet decisive, conclusions. You draw absurdities. Your clarification for the origins of lifestyles are not from now on advantageous than the different persons. And in time-honored fundie way you teach your absurdity. The "origins" of lifestyles have no longer something to do with evolution. attempt doing something different than quoting fundie captions. i think of evolution has greater scientific jargon and dogma than faith itself. you easily do, that does no longer mean you're no longer staggeringly stupid. if evolution have been taken heavily as long as Christianity in the time of historical past, it is books could be merely as thick, and because evolution is merely a hundred and fifty years previous and does have greater help for it than very almost all religions in historical past, extraordinarily christianity, you teach how knowledgeable you're. Your computerized denial is devil working his mischief as you snicker off what you study suitable now. you have in no way shown god or devil yet you quote it as though they are actual. And for the little bit of excellent judgment you will possibly be able to very own, asserting "goddidit" or satandidit" in despite way you attempt does not teach god or devil. Hell exists teach it, and quoting an historic plagiarized textual content fabric proves basically that folk might desire to write 2000 years in the past. i'm a bigot for no longer believing in the proofs of evolution? No, merely stupid. the place is the evolutionist that gained the Nobel Prize for proving it as actuality? once you have the slightest understanding approximately which you communicate you will understand how staggeringly absurd that remark is. evolution is a concept it is meant to describe each and every thing It explains evolution, no longer something greater.

Evolutionists DID fight to put evolution in schools and are still trying to remove any and all religiously-connected teaching. I think creationism should be taught alongside evolution because everyone should have the choice of what to believe. I won't even touch the subject of what I think of whar extremists on either side of the question say....

The big bang THEORY and creationism, are both theories. Theory being the key word. Kids have brains and are fully capable of deciding which theory they want to believe. When only one side of something is learned, it is considered to be brainwashing. Melissa, you don't know what you are talking about, most schools encourage children to have sex by telling them exactly where to go to get birth control and condoms. Most parents who value their childs innocence, don't even allow their children to participate in sex ed classes because they are to graphic, and go into detail about homosexuality as if it would be abnormal if everyone wasn't doing it. That is why you are seeing such a great increase in the homo, bi, and lesbian community! ;-)
