Why would they? It's a difficult concept to grasp. I mean he looked like everyone else. They say he healed the sick and walked on water, but other people were doing some pretty crazy stuff too. Jonas survived in the belly of a whale. So, Jonas was the original Aquaman? Moses was talking to bushes and parted the Red Sea. How did he do that? Apparently he was a telepath. Noah built a giant arc in a day without the tools that we have today and then somehow convinced two of every animal to get on board...except those stubborn dinosaurs. So I'm not real sure how these other guys didn't get a cult following of their own. Fact of the matter is that there is really only the one religion that belives he was the son and several others that don't. If someone showed up today and was doing all that stuff, would you believe he was the son of God? Or more likely a tricky magician doctor? Didn't Jesus himself say he was only a messenger of God?

According to Islam, God is alone, i.e. if there is a God, then surely he must not have any relatives or beings associated with him. He must be unique. If he had a son, then he would no longer be unique. Islam followers believe that God is one and eternal.

Therefore, it logically follows, according to Islam, that if God is alone and the Creator of all things, then he is the master of all creation. Muslims believe that the holy Book 'Quran' is the word of God, and the Quran says that Allah is alone, and there are no partners or beings associated with him.

Note that although Islam does not believe that Jesus was the son of God, Jesus is given special status as a Prophet from God.

So, the reason that Muslims believe that Jesus was not the son of God, but a great Prophet, is because the Quran (the book that Muslims believe to be the word of God), states so.

Hope this helped.

You have to remember that the bible as you read it today is the result of many different writers with their own ideas and their own motives for writing the way they did so they are the ones they allowed into the bible. The 4 gospels which Christians rely on for the accounts of Jesus are only part of a whole series of gospels many of which do not mention the crucifixion but the early church leaders decided that these 4 said what they wanted their followers to believe. Jesus is an Islamic prophet and very much revered by them. He is the only one who they believe will return as according them and of course the Christians he ascended to heaven in a bodily form and is the only prophet to do so so he alone can return .

If you consider Jesus as Son of God simply because he was born miraculously for virgin Mary then what about Adam who was born without father and mother?

Islam is very reasonable religion and any intelligent people can accept its arguments as it it based on unaltered Qur-anic teachings

Two reasons. First, it would validate the Jews and not those descended from Ishmael, who they are from.
Second, It would bring to nothing their prophet and their writings.
They make the claim that Jesus never said or claimed to be God, which is not true...He did. Even the Pharisees recognized this fact.

Like the Jews they simply believe that the messiah has not come yet. To them Jesus was a great profit but, just not the messiah. Sorry but there really just isn't very much at all in the "why" department for this subject.

Because islam is islam, and that's one of it's teaching. muhammad confused about trinity, it is written in the quran that trinity is Allah, Isa (Jesus), Maryam (mother of Jesus), so in his opinion to accept Jesus as God/Son of God, it means that God slept with Maryam then Isa (Jesus) was born then he became God. that's why islam denied Jesus both as God or son of god.

Jesus never was and never be a God? Why ? because Bible says that.

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. (From the NIV Bible, Deuteronomy 6:4)"
The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. (From the NIV Bible, Mark 12:29)"

I'm still waiting for some dyed in the wool Christian to tell me where exactly Jesus himself said he was the son of God/Allah.
He may have said 'I go to my Father,' but that could have been a mistranslation of, 'I go to my maker,' or something similar.
So, Christians - I want chapter and verse where Jesus said, 'I am the Son of God.'
