I have been running for over three years now and I have become an ok runner, nothing like professionals. Now when I run I don’t even feel anything like I use to, like that high you get when you run, I don’t even get that now, and my body is in constant pain, even when I sleep. I don’t even feel like I get a good work out but there is no way that I can run faster, I run like 8 miles and hour on the tred mill and I cant go any faster, my body wont let me, it would hurt way to bad, so what I am wanting to know is why this has happened to me and what can I do to get my high back and to feel like I got a good work out? I also have not been sweating enough like I had been during the summer, what is going on?

You don't mention any symptoms other than what you feel when you run, so it's unlikely that a systemic condition would explain this. From what you've described, it's sounds like a bad case of overtraining and monotony. Treadmill running is difficult to vary the wear and tear effects on your body. Your mind supremely knows and anticipates the workout. The thrill is gone. Try this:
#1-Get outside. Run on the grass or in the woods.
#2-Don't even think about wearing a watch. Run until you don't want to anymore; run faster when you feel it and slower when you don't.
#3-Get on a bike or swim or some other fast paced activity at least 1 day and rest at least 1 day/week.
#4-When you do feel ready to get back on a treadmill or track, change your distance, or do intervals, or put the elevation up. No more than 2 hard workouts/week.
If none of this works, you can get the full medical check-up.

Firstly see your doctor, as you may be having other medical problems.

You are trying too hard, as a runner I only do max workouts 3-4 times a month, you may be overtraining, 8mph is a good pace 3:20 marathon if you can keep it up. On the weekends I drop back about 1-2 min/mile when I do 15+ miles.

As an example this week I'm doing/did Sunday=20m Monday=4m (slower pace than Sunday) , Tuesday rest, Wednesday 4m (slightly quicker than Sunday) Thursday 4 mile race or 5 mile Tempo, Friday 5 miles (same pace as Wed). Saturday rest.

Apart from Thursday, and only if I don't race, none of these are at full pace, running distance requires a lot of recovery and you are not letting your body do this.

You will sweat a lot more in summer than now as the is a way for your body to cool down - lack of heat = less cooling needed.

Got 2 answers for you, depending on which problem you begin to tackle.

The first problem is medical, or at least ruling out a medical problem. You ain't supposed to hurt after running and you are supposed to sweat. Now that means you need a complete medical checkup.

After you get that done and IF you are completely okay, then you need to vary your running. Instead of just running the same distance, the same way, you need to get some variety. Sign up for some road races and experience the variety that provides.

Let us know in 6 months how this works for you.....

Well i guessing your a long distant runner ! well if ur not getting your high feeling in running anymore than deep inside ur getting bored or running! u need a lil encouragement ! ....

but if ur a short distant runner (sprinter) like me than u just need a faster pratice opponate ! kinda a challenge ! .......

and for the pain! ... just take hot long baths .. and try eating fruit like bananas! it helps ! TRUST ME !!!!

Have you checked your thyroid level? It could be an overactive or underactive thyroid problem. It depends on your age too.
