This is in addition to my previously asked question that I did not word properly, a officer and my wife texted 3000 times in 2 months, starting at 1am to 8pm, my question is in a dept that has moral/ethical standards to uphold is he allow to text someone wife (or anybody for that matter) up to 100 times a day when he should be working (protecting us) how can any officer do his job when all he is doing is texting in his patrol car and not doing his job. Is this a act that can get him fired/under investigation. It does not seem like we (the tax payer) should be paying him to text married women while on duty. if anybody can tell me with certainty if this is a direct violation please advise. Claude

This is a violation and you have the evidence to prove it. Take your wife's phone to the station and show it to the officers boss. They will confiscate your wife's phone for evidence and keep it for several months. The officer will not be fired or fined. He will be given an oral reprimand. (He will be asked to stop) Meanwhile every cop buddy of his will be following you around and writing you tickets, searching your car, planting evidence, etc. Your life will be miserable but your wife and the cop will still be able to continue their "texting affair."
Maybe you should get a new wife who doesn't like cops so much.

It isn't a violation in most departments. A police officer can talk/text on their cell phone all they want. When do most of these text happen? Throughout the night? I could send hundreds of texts in a couple minutes, and you could do that while they are on their lunch break, or even running radar. It is called multitasking. I don't think its the cop that you should have issues with. You obviously don't trust your wife. She is the one that should have that trust with you, and not him. You need to stop blaming a 2nd party, and take up you insecurities/trust issues with your wife.

It sounds like to me- that perhaps you should stop worrying about what the police officer is doing - and begin worrying about what your wife is doing. The text messaging was going both ways.

An honest conversation with your wife and marriage counseling may be in order.

My boyfriend and I text while he is working... It's not all day and night... it is just when he is not busy... I like when i get a text from while he is working.. it makes me feel better knowing he is safe and in his cruiser... I wouldn't think that is would be a problem unless he isnt stopping to do his job. I think that maybe you need to find out why your wife is texting this cop for hours on end... That sounds like the real problem to me.
