Why do people that have no or little experience in these areas answer? People give all kinds of incorrect answers. Here are the facts with cold calling, door to door sales etc. You can start a company with very little money and start making a good living the first week if you are good at it. What do I mean by good living? 50,000 plus a year and if your in the right business with time you can increase it to over 100,000. Heck I know of a product that you can sell and make over 100,000 your first year. I am not going to mention that product, because I don't want the competition. Why is that people don't realize that even though they hate door to door sales or telemarketing that not all people do. Why else would people continure to do these sales if it doesn't work? Also, a little secret here talented door to door/telemarketers often only work 20 hrs a week and make well over the average median income. While your fighting traffic early in the morning rushing to work.

folk answer from their own experience.

most have no experience with cold calling or door-to-door or telemarketing and can't really see themselves doing it -- they're scared of failing.

psychology says that only about 30% of the population has the proper personality to be successful doing these jobs and it sure helps to believe in your product.

but that 30% likely does better, on average, than the typical grind 'em out office worker.
