I was an atheist my whole life. I did not think God was logical.

But one day, I had an encounter with God and I had to admit He is real. I wasn't exactly happy about this, mind you. But once He made Himself known to me, it would have been incredibly illogical for me to run around saying He doesn't exist.

He does. I can't help it. All the unbelief in the world doesn't make God cease to exist, any more than all the belief in the world causes Him to exist.

Sure you must agree that if there is a God, He exists whether or not you or anybody else in the world believes He exists.

Usually they just become agnostics once they realize the futility of trying to prove that something doesn't exist.

I'd say a subjectively "miraculous"-seeming experience could convert an atheist to Christianity, but an extremely logical person would be able to explain that away as a chemical disturbance in the brain or gas.

I would say that if an atheist became Christian, maybe they weren't atheist to begin with. Maybe they were more agnostic than atheist.

To become a theist after being atheist means first you have to accept the possibility that a god can exist, therefore you are not atheist.

The same way a Christian can become an atheist...beliefs evolve, people are shaped by their experiences, etc. While I don't understand it myself, and can't imagine becoming a Christian again...there was also a time when I couldn't understand how someone could become an atheist. That it doesn't make sense to me doesn't make it make any less sense to the person who's converting one way or the other.

Generally speaking, potentially anybody can be convinced of anything. I don't think that an atheist would suddenly believe in a god, but I do believe that a person or situation could convince them that there is one (or many).

I did--it took a few traumatic experiences in life to realize that I was not living it right, and I realized too, that I was powerless and that there was something greater than myself, and that must be God, whatever whoever that may be. I took those first few tentative steps, and that was the beginning.

By humbling him/herself before Him who knows all things. I came to Christ when I realised that He died for me and the little I know cannot compare with who God is, it's just a matter of mind set. the bible says that set your mind on things above not on things of thos earth for they will perish but the things above which are of God are eternal.

There are many people who at one point didn't believe in God.....and for whatever reason started believing again.

It has something to do with "faith"......and people change every day.
