That's where the whole separation of church and state thing comes in.
Our laws are not based in the bible.
Numbers 31 13-18 "When Moses and the priest Eleazar, with all the princes of the community, went outside the camp to meet them, Moses became angry with the officers of the army, the clan and company commanders, who were returning from combat. "So you have spared all the women!" he exclaimed. "Why, they are the very ones who on Balaam's advice prompted the unfaithfulness of the Israelites toward the LORD in the Peor affair, which began the slaughter of the LORD's community. *Slay, therefore, every male child and every woman who has had intercourse with a man. But you may spare and keep for yourselves all girls who had no intercourse with a man.
Hmmmmm......the bible condones the rape and murder of women .....yet the government, in it's wisdom, made that illegal too.
If you want to see an example of a government based on religious teachings....check out Iran.

why not have some heroin from the " poppy " plant as well
the problem wasn't when it was weed in the 60,s a natural plant
its the man made hybrids like " skunk " which is about 10 times stronger , and will cause mental disorders
and of course the fact that they mix it with all kinds of s**t to make it go further smashed up CD,s for example
or even speed has been used to make it more addictive
it was that combination that made my brother end up in a mental institution
all the best

A plant in and of itself is neither good nor bad as an ethical concept, its the use of the plant that is either good as in healing for instance, or bad as in poisonous. A plant may in fact be poisonous to one species and not another.
Its not the plant, its the use the human puts it to.
And being a human use, that human use is subject to human laws, all of which can change, opium wasn't always illegal.
Neither was marijuana.

The Bible also said God gave us every seed bearing herb for our meat. But the US government deemed it necessary to make marijuana illegal.

All plants may be good - but not good to eat (poisonous plants come to mind). Also, God didn't write the law about marijuana being illegal, humans did.

"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."
1 Corinthians 6:19.
So, how exactly are you glorifying God by smoking pot? If you're going to bring the big man into your pro-weed argument, how bout' going a little further in the word for more clarification.

It's illegal for a few reasons......
The government can't "TAX" to death something people could grow themselves........
The money that police agencies get from drug seizures is in the millions, they aren't going to give that up......
The church going bible thumpers are "voters", and political hopefuls don't want to piss them off.....
Why legalize a substance that doesn't promote violence, when look at all the tax revenue the government gets by selling "Alcohol"!!!! Budweizer would have a dip in sales!!!
The other thing, is that if people would grow their own, young people could get their hands on it easier then they can now...
which is pretty easy to start with, but people would have it stolen, plants stolen, ripped off from their parents or older siblings, and that wouldn't be so great, young minds don't need to smoke it.....makes some people lazy!!!
It does need to be "decriminalized"!!!!!
We don't need to fill up our jails with people who have a quarter ounce on them, and throw them in jail with murders and rapists, so they come out really messed up.........
The law enforcement agencies have been paid for years to fight this "drug war" they will never win.....
Economics, "supply and demand", the Demand ain't goin' away!!!!
So, they need to concentrate on the friggen METH problem that is an epidemic on this planet and leave the over 21yr old pot heads alone....
Ever hear of someone murdering their family or grandma over "Pot"???
Never have I ever heard of any case where horrific violence was attributed to Pot smoking........
Too many "old dinosaurs in suits" and maniacs running this planet!!!
Maybe if world leaders smoked a joint together, they'd mellow out then grab something to eat!
It will never be legalized in our day.....too much politics!!!

What about the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil?
He forbade man to eat from it, and I seem to remember reading something about some trouble arising from ignoring that one a while back...

Ok , so you want there to be legal pot for Christians to get high on. Good thinking there! Who's side are you on goo or evil? No goo can come from someone in an altered state.
