I had the idea that when vodka is frozen it can be bad for you due to some sort of enzyme separation. Is this true? Can someone please clarify for me! (As i have some rubbish vodka in my freezer which has frozen and I'm afraid to drink it! lol!)

Vodka is normally around 80 proof, that is 40% alcohol. In order to freeze vodka, the temperature of your freezer would have to be about -100°C, and no commercial kitchen freezers will go that low.

So your bottle of vodka is pretty rubbish, better not have it.

According to Absolut Vodka, 40% alcohol or 80 proof will freeze at -26F. I know in my freezer it turns slushy at around -15F.

it cant be pure vodka that froze in your freezer because your freezer will not get cold enough the stuff only gels in liquid nitrogen. i put vodka in the freezer all the time sometimes weeks on end and winter out in the snow bank at -40f and it doesn't freeze

vodka is better when kept in the freezer. it keeps it cold and fresh because alcohol does not freeze. it may get syrupy but you jsut have to let it thaw.
vodka does not freeze because the alcohol level is so high
