In my opinion, both parties made some errors:
Friend:
Your friend definitely shouldn't have been parked in the middle of the street. Then again, there's always the question of whether or not they were ON the street or Off the street/on the curb.
You:
You should have been driving slow enough such that you COULD stop in the case that something like this did happen.
Either way, I think that the fault is still mainly yours, but not entirely, considering the fact that it is unlawful to park in the middle of the street...

The problem with these questions is that those who post them are looking for support.
The answer to the question is that on the basis of what you have written, you are in the wrong, you were travelling too fast for the road conditions. You should only approach a hazard (blind bend) at a speed at which you know you can stop in a safe distance.
I await the thumbs down with eager anticipation.

Why are they suing you? Is it out of spite? I had a friend who was sued because they were in the car driving while the passenger was injured but this is really different. Why isnt the insurance company helping with this issue? I say COUNTERSUE for more. It may get very messy though, but this sounds strange..

This is a tricky one ... an insurance company will put a percentage of blame to you both. So ... sorry, but it's up to the insurance companies to fight this one out.
Them stopping in a position dangerous to fellow drivers is bad, but moving into a blind corner at a speed that dosn't allow you to stop in time is also bad.
Good luck ... at least no one was hurt???

Usually if you hit something, especially a stopped vehicle or object, you are in the wrong. Driving too fast for conditions is the reason. If you can't stop without hitting something, regardless of circumstances, you're in the wrong. Sometimes even a few miles per hour is too fast.

I think you need to pay. No matter where someone is stopped, you need to be driving is such a manner that you can stop your car. Because a car is stopped anywhere does not give you the right to run into them. You were driving carelessly and you're lucky they didn't push so that you got a ticket to boot.

Sorry, yet you may have clicked the incorrect section, because it is the motorcycle RACING questions. Your question does no longer contain Racing so ..... the suitable suggestion i grants you is you is to post this question lower back. you will possibly get a extra advantageous reaction in.... "autos & Transportation"> "bikes"
