Jah is a shortened version of Jehovah. Remember, King David is singing a song, or Psalm, to Jehovah, and song writers sometimes use shortened words to make things fit.

"I shall prove to be" is the meaning of Gods name. It's what Jehovah has called Himself because His purpose never changes, and He will "prove to be" whatever is needed to work out His purpose.

"Jealous" is because the Israelites were worshiping false gods instead of Jehovah, and as you remember, the Israelites where commanded (just as we are today) "Do not worship any other God but Me." Since they were worshiping other gods, then He was stating how He was Jealous for their worship.

As far as the "others" you asked about...just remember when you do Bible research, that the Bible does not contradict itself, and then figure out what is happening in the passage that you're reading about and the background of the people in that day.

Hope this helps!!

JWs do not say that Jehovah (YHWH) is God's only name. Jehovah's nickname is also called Jah. In the Bible though those names are the only proper names referred to God.

Others are titles, common names and attributes, as Father, I shall prove to be, etc.

Well Jehovah is the most widely pounced name in the world. It is the English language that is also most common through out the world.

Jah, or Jehovah or Hallelujah , are typical was of saying Jehovah. Like Richard, rick, rich, etc....

But, the example people do have to acknowledge is that Jehovah (Yahweh) YHWH,
was the name given to Moses to give to the Pharaoh, to identify the one true God.

For many thousands of years, other nations knew who the Hebrew God was, Jehovah, Although there was false worship everywhere even down to the Romans and such, they knew who Jehovah was.

"Jah" is a shortened form of Jehovah.

"I shall prove to be"- he was describing himself, that whatever he decides to be- be it Deliverer, Judge, Father, Teacher- he will be just that, nothing can stop him.

Incidentally, Jehovah is the causative form, the imperfect state, of the Hebrew verb ha·wah′ (become); meaning “He Causes to Become”

Jealous? If I were to say to you "I am hungry", does that make my other name Hungry? Come on!!!

God only has one NAME- all the others are descriptive titles.

'God' is a translation (to English) difficulty. The Hebrew has multiple terms (about 10) that get translated 'God' in English. Some Hebrew terms are singular, some plural. One of the frequent Hebrew terms is elohim; which is plural.
