What should you have been doing besides getting fattened.

Remeber the Dead Sea, has an inlet but no outlet, does anything live in that sea?

25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

The only words I want to hear the Lord say to me one day is "well done faithfull servant enter into your rest. Whenever I am on my balcony I always look out over the park to see if I can see somebody that is hungry and naked. I always say "Lord send me somebody today that I can mean something to and show them YOU"

God has shed His love abroad in my heart and I have great compassion on those least fortunate. I cannot but love the homeless, speak up for those less fortunate, the orphans and the lonely. The widow and poor.

Too true sister!
I 100% echo whats on your heart. For too long we have been just sitting there taking in the riches in the word, and like the dead sea, just accumilate without keeping the rich waters in the word flowing from us to another.
I have considered that those that labour on the word to deliver a message each week will be the ones gaining the deposit of the word. We as just the receivers do not function properly in the Body.
In our Body, all the members work and function in their capacity for its building up and its going on. What of the Body of Christ?
Sister, you quoted verses in Mattew 25, but if you'd look at Chapter 24, leading up to this matter there is something striking.
From vss 45-51 we see that Christ, as the Master of His Household went abroad and left all of His possessions over to us as His slaves. And what was this responsibility? I found this very interesting.
Vs 45
" Who then is the faithful and prudent slave, whom the master has set over his household TO GIVE THEM FOOD AT THE PROPER TIME"
wow
To give food!
We are here to feed on the Riches of This Wonderful Christ, to enjoy Him in the WOrd and to share of Him with others. He is the Living Water.. THe Bread of Life..
We need to really see this.
If we are not faithful to feed one another.. and NOT just one brother or sister feeding from the pulpit each sunday.. but all of us functioning as the many members of the Body to build it up in Love, then we will become like this evil slave in Vs 48 who beats up his fellow slaves and eats and drinks with the drunkards.
May the Lord truly have mercy on us. Today the church has been structured in such a way that the function of the many members have been taken away. We have broken away from much of the Catholic Church where one man preaches and the rest sit and listen. Today we have to see that each one of us are not only slaves responsible for the Household of God to feed one another while we ourselves are feeding, but we are also a royal priesthood ministering to God and to men as priests. Israel was supposed to be a Nation of Priests.. then it became only a Tribe of Priests because of the Golden Calf incident. We need to see that we are a HOLY NATION .. a Royal Priesthood UNTO God. This is the true church Christ has died for and ever lives for.
May we be brought back to being simple. Meeting at the church and from house to house as seen in Acts.. Breaking bread with simplicity of heart, having our meals together and GOD added. The word did not say they went out preach sister.. But because of their way of being together in sucha pure way , others were attracted and drawn and GOD added to them daily those that were being saved through the demonstration of Christ amongst the brothers and sisters.

I love your question sister..Really makes me appreciate the uniqueness of where I am meeting now. We all feed one another and love eachother in a simple way. All over the world.. in all countries there are brothers and sisters meeting in such a way.
Email me if you want more info on this sister.

Yours in Christ

I suppose the complete liberal vs conservative giving is a asinine and a waste of money and time. Who honestly offers a hoot? When requested, so much folks will say that they're a conservative, although they're moderates who've a few liberal perspectives. "Liberal" is a horrifying phrase. I do not supply a massive sum of money, however after paying attention to my 'conservative" peers, I recognise that I supply greater than they do. I don't take a tax holiday on some thing that I donate.

We need to share the message of Christ with others.

John 3:16
Romans 6:23
Matthew 24:13,14
John 1:12
Revelation 12:17
Revelation 22:14
Ephesians 2:8,9

His grace is sufficient.

Thanks for sharing with us Suzanne.

My tax money does all those things, does that count?

How about teaching in homeless shelters, and in prisons, does that count?

How about distributing toiletries through Operation Care, does that count?

How about giving clothes to Good Will, does that count?

How about giving your money to a church that owns a homeless shelter, does that count?

Or do you have to physically clothe someone, feed someone, and house someone in your own home?

Good question, would like to see some good answers.

That is definitely at the very heart of Christianity. Thank you for reminding me. I often forget that I should not be so content in my comfort when I could be doing things to help those who are in pain.

Very beautiful passage!

Faith without works is dead.

Be doers of the word not hearers only.
