In Luke 16:19-31 is the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. In this parable in verse 26 it says: "...there is a great gulf fixed..." The distance must not be too great as in verse 23 it says: The rich man lifted up his eyes and could see Lazarus afar off. If the rich man could see Lazarus then the distance cannot be too great across the gulf or canyon between them. This gulf is great enough that no one can pass from Hell to Heaven.

I suggest you read this parable in its entirety and understand its meaning to you and everyone on earth.

Hi , honey, about the question, let me tell you a story. Sometime back I met a person on balckgirlsconnect.com, he is so wonderful that I truly believed was my soul mate. The first six months were great. We ended up getting married. Then things started "going weird" We would be celebrating our 2ND wedding anniversary on the 29Th of this month. I thought things were great. They were for him. I found out, after he almost broke me financially, that he had done this with his prior relationship. She walked away with almost nothing, and lost what she did have when she met him. I was coming close to that same situation and "got smart" I now have my head above water and am working very hard to manage my life again. Now he is in Texas and I figured moving on to new grounds. It is not the sites fault, I blame myself for letting this happen. So there is no distance between heaven and hell, hell is behind heaven if you don't cherish what your have today.

The distance between heaven and hell is just the matter of time. The day we are born and the day we died. Our belief, our choice. We don't have to be religious to be able to know what's right from wrong. Thumbs up for heaven, thumbs down for hell.
