You don't have to pay tax on your first job earning up to $7,000. And you will be way under if you are just doing weekends and after school work.
http://www.thesource.gov.au is a great website for 12-25 yr old, on getting a job, your rights, discrimination, services, resources etc.. Bookmark it for future reference.
