His ex before me was his first serious gf. She cheated on him a year and a half ago. They split up, got back together a couple of months later and finally split about 7 months ago. I met him 2 months later. He said he was surprised byhow much he liked me & that he hadn't expected it because of recently splitting up with her, this was on our 4th time of meeting. We've now been together for 5 months, long distance. He was the one who wanted us to give it a try. He's still friends with his ex & she has a new bf, but he talks to her a lot online, and she always phones him with her problems, which seem to mainly consist of too many men being in love with her, and wanting to cheat on her current bf. I get the feeling she's trying to make herself out to be ohso desirable etc, maybe to hook him back in. He seems to really like me though, and always talks about our future, like in years time future. But could this just be that false rebound feeling?Could he still like his ex?

Watch out for your heart Baby Girl!! This sounds really dangerous for your feelings here babe. I'm sure he feels he has your best interests in mind, but the heart is really funny some times when it comes to rejection. Just watch your beautiful little heart Angel. Don' let him hurt it! OK?

While he could still like his ex, at the end of the day he knows that she wants to cheat on her boyfriend and has not acted upon this. Also he is open and up front with you which illustrates that he is pretty much over it. He may always have a special feeling for her but it doesn't mean that he is still interested in her necessarily. It is best to kee your eyes and ears open though because you don't want to be naive. However, as you said he has talked to you about the future and in a rebound situation it's normally just a hook up. You should be fine but communication is key so talk to your boyfriend! Hope it works out for you :)

Yes, he still likes her.

Remaining her friend, and talking to her regularly is not a good sign. Listening to her problems is just a backdoor way of trying to get back with her.

Find someone who lives in the present instead of the past.

You must leave the cage door open - if he likes you then you must let him out and to meet people and form relationships with other poeople - if he likes you he will always return to his nest at the end of the day - but remember rule number one.....all men are bastards

maybe their just close friends, talk to her and tell her you dont mid her being friends with your bf but sometimes she can intrude into your private life and you dont like that. Dont treat her with contempt/hatred, just dont let her absorb your man... keep him quite but not too close... the next part may sound dirty but most men dont leave a relationship with a good s...x :)
he likes his ex as a friend fair enough they spent a long time with each other why shouldnt they? im sure he loves you and im sure you make sure that he knows you love him back.

He should leave her alone, or if he can not, at least talk to her in a manner more appropriate.
