somebody HAS to take the last cookie - ok if you just can't take the last cookie - then split it with me ok, and oh yeah maybe Joe would like some. or how about:
would you like a cookie? If you would like for someone to have the cookie, don't tell them it's the last cookie.
I have been known to take the last cookie. and I have also given away the last "cookie". ?Better someone eats it than it gets thrown away because nobody ate it and it went bad.

No thank you. I don't eat cookies. If I did I still wouldn't take the last cookie. That would not be good manners.
