I was cleaning the chain with citrus cleaner and a special park tools chain cleaner but some of the solution got onto my rims. When I finished up, I lubed my chain but some of it got onto the rims. (I cleaned off the brake pads using nail polish remover and it worked).

How can I get this lube off of my rims though?

You can use the same thing to clean your rims that you used on your chain. It's not a problem unless they are carbon. I'd stick to simple green. It is little less caustic and should take care of the residue.

Use a degreaser, Castrol super clean works great!
