I don't read many actual books. I prefer to do most of my reading and studying on the internet.

I used to read quite a bit. I could read a full novel (not one of those patterson books with half the pages blank, but real books, like Noble House) in a few days (that one took 5). So I could read probably 8 novels in a month if I was really into reading that specific month.
I have not been reading as much for the past couple of years. My eyes don't focus and re-focus as well now that I'm older, so I've gone to audio books. I listen to those in the car - I travel for business a lot - but I don't seem to get more than one a month done.
Favorite authors include Patricia Cornwell, Tom Clancy, Stephen King (older books - new stuff sux!), mostly for entertainment, but occassionally I will read something for research.
Want to know who is lying? Ask them how long it took them to read Atlas Shrugged or Noble House. Anything less than 4 days means they can't tell the truth - and speed-reading provides little retention so it doesn't count.

I'm a law student, so I have a lot of reading for school (~100-150 pages a night.) On top of that, I probably read 5-10 books a month. Before starting law school I averaged between 10-15 books a month.

On average, I read about 4 books a month. Sometimes more. I read about an hour every night before bed. If I can't put a book down, sometimes I'll read in the daytime too.

I have always loved to read. Since my children are older now (my youngest 2 are 16 and 17), I find I have more disposable time than ever. I read about 20 books per month, or more. I love Romance novels, the classics, poetry, mysteries, sci-fi, humorous ones, and I still read children's books (although they were not included in my total).
I also read devotionals, and other spiritual-growth/helps
material. In addition to the Bible.
God bless you.
Next response: Cute. But why would anyone lie about reading books?

It depends on how busy I am and the depth, complexity and length of the book. Sometimes I may read 3-4 books, other times it may only be 1.

About a book a week sometimes two. Mixture of fiction and non fiction. Too many non-fiction books just makes you head swim with info overload - unless you are studying somethinfg specific. Too many fictional books rot your brain like too much telly!
Edit: why would anyone be lying about reading books? It is just reading...

Depends, a couple here and there every month. I very rarely buy new novels, I do like to re-read old ones. Now, if I can include comic books and graphic novels then I read dozens a month.
