Science IS truth. Athiests deride religion, not faith. I have faith that my car will start this morning because it's a reliable car, not because I think it's got some all-powerful superbeing under the hood. There is also a difference between blind faith in an all-mighty power that has never been seen, felt, or heard, and faith in scientific principles and practices that have been proven.

You had never talk to god before, and yet you claim you know him, why the blatant dishonesty?
There are no true certainties in the non-existence of supernatural phenomena, therefore we have to believe it blindly? What kind of logic is there.
Can you be certain the next 50 million imaginary creatures is not real as there are no true certainties in the non-existence of these imaginary creatures? If you can, apply that to your god. If you can't, then you have to pray to the next 50 million imaginary creatures. After you complete the 50 million imaginary creatures, imagin the next X million of it and continue praying to it.
Certain evidences of POSITIVE has to be presence. You CANNOT prove NEGATIVE.

A "leap of faith" by your definition may well be supported by evidence. As a scientist, I tend not to make leaps of faith by any definition - I certainly do want evidence.
Empirical studies certainly can say a lot about nature. I'm an ecologist.. I've studied natural systems for years, and come to conclusions based on evidence.
How did you come to your conclusions?

I don't understand. Are you saying that I have "faith" that, for example, Mars exists? Dude, I've SEEN Mars in my own telescope. I've tracked it across the sky over time. I've seen photographs taken of Mars from orbit and from the surface of the planet itself.
I have not, however, seen God in my telescope, nor have I seen photographs of God taken from any distance whatsoever.
Perhaps you should look up the word 'faith'...or buy a telescope.

Never has the man lived who didn't entirely live by faith. The difference is where we place it as individuals.

How large are these leaps, you mean, anyway?I can't make leaps, just using my imagination. How is evidence, and proof, being intellectually dishonest?

It all depends on the validity of your faith that makes it more reasonable.

Here is what I have experienced. When I said Jesus I am a sinner I believed You died on the cross for my sins.I believe You are God's Son.Forgive my sins Jesus.Come into my heart Jesus.I really felt peace and love and the knowledge that I was going to live with Jesus forever.
This I know because it happened to me.
