Different churches practice salvation and baptism differently.

You'll need to call each church and ask them if they do alter calls or private consultations.

I will advise you that if you do want to get saved, it should be a PUBLIC profession of faith as the Bible describes.
All you need to do to get saved is to believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Christ is the Savior and He died on the Cross to pay your sin debt, then rose again to prove to the world He is God.
After you get saved you should contact a church to get baptisted as soon as possible.

If you just want to go to church, you can do that without much attention to you. If you want to get baptized, it's usually done somewhat under the spotlight. I guess, it just depends on what you feel like you want or need right now. Personally, I find my own church - under the stars at night, in the mountains, or really wherever I am to be quite satisfying. Some people believe you really need to go to the organized church thing - and if that works for them that's cool - if that's what you feel you need right now, go for it -
I hope you have gotten some resolution to your other question - be careful of what you grab on to alleviate your depression. I'm not trying to persuade you to not go - just be careful of where you go. If you would like to e-mail me just to discuss your situation, please feel free to do so.
P.S. Asking God to forgive you in the name of Jesus can be done in your bed, your car, your bathtub, any ol place you like. It can be a very emotional experience and therefore sometimes it's nice to have someone around, but to me it's a very personal thing. and not something that has to be done in front of anyone. fortunately our believes are ours - and you can talk to your god wherever and whenever you want . And you may decide not to. You have that choice.

Not in any church I know(penticostal, baptist) . People usually make you feel comfortable and welcome. After you go for a while and decide that that's where you want to be and eccept Jesus as your savior, you can request to be baptized. But you won't be alone, usually there are more people who wish to do it.

Every church does things differently and I would think you can go to church and they will make you feel welcome.

Baptism is a public declaration of faith in Christ by the believer before man. It is his outward demonstration of an inward act, and is a picture of the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Immersion fully portrays the place of death; there are some people, even today, who have met actual physical death after coming up out of the baptismal waters. Those who have come out of other religions evaluate the ordinance of baptism more highly than those who have been raised in Christian homes. Not only does baptism show the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, but it also shows the believer’s identification with Christ. Baptism is his full declaration of his own death in Christ (II Cor. 5:14): dead to sin, dead to self and dead to the old life. It is also his declaration of being raised with Christ, after burying the old life, to walk in newness of life with Him.

The baptism of all believers, as recorded in the Word, pictures the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. The baptism of John the Baptist looked forward to Christ’s death and resurrection, and our baptism today looks back to the death and resurrection of our Lord.

It is not a saving ordinance. Man is saved by faith alone. This occurs before baptism. It is true, however, that baptism is a public declaration of faith before man, and God looks not upon the baptismal waters, but upon the heart of man.

getting baptised is to show the outside world (mainly your church) that you accept Jesus and will follow him.

if your still ashamed of Jesus the Jesus will be ashamed of you. put it aside, in this day and age people are not ashamed to talk about the last man/woman they fornicated with or how they sodomised some person the night before. so why be ashamed of following Jesus.

ive never heard of secret baptism, its not biblical tbh.

Baptizing is sweet! Free shower!

But on a more serious note... don't even go to church. It's time that could be spent sleeping, or eating cheese. Mmm, cheese.
