It all makes sense perfectly.

You mean "thou shalt not" - "should" is just a suggestion. "Shalt" is an imperative.

The problem is that those rules are only for Jews and about Jews. It was perfectly fine with the 'god' of the Old Testament to commit genocide on non-Jews.

Nowadays, most Christians don't understand the Commandments. If they did, we wouldn't have all these court fights to put graven images in our schools and public buildings. Idolatry is a no-no.

The ten commandments does NOT say "thou should not".
It says "thou SHALT not".
You should or shalt understand the difference.

I understand it, and I also understand that if I look at myself honestly, I know that I fail them. That is why I am not under the Law, I trust that the righteousness of God has to be imputed upon me to be a covering for my inability to fulfill the Law.

If you see anyone who thinks they can live by the Ten Commandments:

Galatians 2
5 We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might remain with you.

I understand that all are sinners and none shall be justified by the law(10 commandments)
Not by works that anyone should boast, but by Faith alone we shall be saved.
For our faith is counted for as righteousness.
I understand that anyone who says that there without sin is a liar.
