i'm going to try and get a bail bond for my friend who has been incarcerated literally at the other end of the country. i know there are legal documents i need to sign, but i cannot afford travel costs. is there anyway to do it long distance?

Personal appearance is needed for the bail because it cannot be delivered door-to-door through a carrier.

Call the jail and see if they will make arrangements for you. You may also contact that county's attourney and or magistrate, and see if they will accept a western union or something like that.

Second option is a bail-bonds man, in your area may work with someone in the other state.

Contact a bail bondmans and ask how you can do this. You will have to wire them the money, and sign some papers or put up some property, that will guarantee payment in case your person flees, and doesn't show up for court.

I think the one whose been jailed can handled that, only need to do is an attorney and a money for the bail. and everything will be alright...

so, can't you go through a bail bonsman where they are? You could sign these papers via fax through the bondsman perhaps.

maybe just try to do everything threw fax they might let u do it i dont see why not there still getting paid either way and thats what its all about
