Any COOKED meat is fine as long as you follow EXACTLY one of the many nutritionally complete formulas available on various web sites. Dry puppy food of any brand is easier and cheaper, though and supplies full nutrition.

I know fefe means well and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it but don't use kangaroo meat - if your dog develops an allergy it is one of the few protein sources that he was likely never exposed to and so could be fed. If you feed it, it will be hard to find a replacement source that he was never exposed to.

In nature, due largely to a poor diet (worms, parasites, disease), a canine's expected lifetime is five years. Be very wary of comparisons to wild animals.

I have been trying to learn a lot about dogs in the last few years. One thing I have learned is that if you start to give them meat as a puppy, they will refuse to eat regular dog food in the future. You have basically spoiled it with food that we humans eat. I am not saying you shouldn't give him meat, I just say you should use meat as a sort of treat for when he does something good. I had a border collie for 14 years and I never gave her any type of food that we eat. Occasionaly cheated and gave her a nibble of something, but not a full meal. And she ate almost all kinds of meat. Vegetables are good. Some dogs like it raw and some cooked. You just have to experiment with them.

I don't think that you should really give your border collie meat and vegetables. Maybe once in a while when they do something really exceptional, otherwise not. Studies show that dogs that eat normal dog food generally live longer than dogs that eat leftovers/human food. So maybe a bit of a hot dog, some egg, a bit of broccoli once in while is okay?

You can feed your dog any kind of meat you eat. Dogs will eat uncooked veggies but they need to be pulped if you're using them with a meal, they don't digest the cellulose in raw veggies and they go right through without any nutritional benefit.

I agree that a balanced dog food bought at the store or pet shop/vet would be best, but if you insist on feeding him meat then make sure it's cooked first, so he doesn't get worms. Ans some veggies may give him gas, which is painful.

In nature dogs eat raw meat. No veggies. The best pups I ever raised ate my deer that I had hanging in my garage where the pups were residing. Cheap pork or beef cuts work real well also. Preferably with bones. If you feed dogs chicken with bones, don't cook it. Dog food has corn, rice, etc in it. They don't do as well on it.

Go with the dog food from the pet shop. I use Science Diet but that's just because that's what my Vet suggested. Some people don't like Science Diet but it has worked well for my dog. She is health and just needs more exercise. She will eat the dry or the wet but mostly the wet.

The dog really won't care what kind of meat, but it ALWAYS needs to be cooked. Dogs can get food poisioning and salmonelle like we can. As for vegetables, try different things and see what they like. My dogs like carrots and peas, cooked with just a touch of garlic salt, but then they're spoiled.
