Hi!
I am smart, bright, confident, and quite good-looking. I get asked out but I usually turn everyone down because I have higher standards, and because I am waiting for the fate / destiny thing to kick-in. In the meanwhile, I spend most of my time on myself...What do you think...am I being narcissitic?

Well No, not really...you actually sound a lot like me...but wait...does that make ME self centered? hmmmmmm...lol, well personally I think that you, like me, are at a phase in life where you feel the pull toward focusing on your own personal growth AND there is NOTHING wrong with that. I too am Gorgeous, INTELLIGENT (4.0 Grad Student), with a great personality - LOTS of men look - but I'm not going to settle for the knuckleheads living in my neighborhood. I think the only point where we really differ is waiting for destiny/ fate - I know where I'm going and what I want - I will accept nothing less (I am the maker of my own life story). Keep on doing YOU!

No one is perfect. Do yourself a favor and pick just the most important qualities you absolutely need in a man, and start from there. If you are not too shallow, you should be able to find the right partner for you.
Remember that you are not perfect either. He may be accepting parts of you that he does not particularly care about, but he likes the rest.
Life is always give and take.

I think you may be a little narcissistic, but you can't realistically go saying yes to EVERY person who asks.
Btw, the fate/destiny thing will never kick in, since it doesn't exist. You have to go do it yourself.

Get over yourself. Yes you are narcissistic. Just remember that there are people out there that will turn you down because they have "higher standards". You have no class. BTW...if you are going to tell us how smart you are then the least you can do is use spell check...it's NARCISSISTIC...genius!
