God is everything. You, me, everything that exists, is God. God created the natural laws that make it possible for water to evaporate and then rain down on fields that desperately need it. God is the cause of every hurricane and flood. You are God. You are the world. Everything is made of physical laws and energy and matter.
What if we were all made of fire? We are already made of the same things on a very basic level. Imagine that the air around you and everything that exists is all made of fire. Are you a small piece of fire? No! You and the rest of the fire are one and the same; God is fire and you are God.
This has been an exposition of my romanticized view of pantheism. Many authors have written about pantheism and other forms of non-theistic spirituality. But what do you think of this belief? As an atheist, is it compatible with your belief that there is no God? As a theist, is it compatible with your belief that there is a God?

A note; I'm an atheist myself. It's just that, as a poster below said, if anything deserves the name 'God,' it's the universe itself.

I figure pantheism is the only chance that there is a god at all. If there is anything which deserves the name God, then it is the Universe itself.

Starred!
I`m a pantheist/atheist. Although there are different forms of pantheism it generally means much more than the sum of all the Universes parts. To be a pantheist means that you profess a belief in "The All" In that everything is interconnected and related to something else.
I.E. We are alive because there are inanimate objects. We are living because we will die. etc. (However, pantheism is not the law of opposites.)
The All is God! Returning to your question (Because it takes volumes of space for me to explain pantheism in depth) Yes, pantheism is compatible with atheism. Because both deny the existence of a Supreme being that created everything, yet is separate and distinct from what he created. Pantheism is in no way compatible with theism. Because if God is
"The All" and everything is God - then God cannot be something that created everything and is "Separate" and
"Distinct" from what he created. These two philosophical views are mutually exclusive.

You're lucky I happened to notice the last paragraph because I was totally prepared to skip all that...
As a theist I do not agree with pantheism. At all. God is the creator of the universe. The universe is God's creation. The universe is not God. God is not the universe. I am not God. I did not create myself.

No, it is not compatible. Or rather, it is non-sensical. In logical terms, such a statement is known as a tautology. That is, it is a statement that points to itself as proof that it is real. But, of course, that makes it not prove or demonstrate anything useful.
It's just supernatural gobbledygook. A search for TESTABLE ideas about the world is much more advantagous. Try it, along with a skeptical approach, and you'll learn much more.

Why do you not believe is the question. Almost everyone I know believes in ghost. Why is it not possible to believe in God? Maybe, God let's us make our own choices and maybe God does not do nothing to harm us if we do wrong. Maybe, we condemn our own selves. I can see that, many Physhologist think so; Maybe, we can do everything we want and confes at the last moment that he is real. and it will count for us in Heaven. Maybe, God Wants your life to be great and maybe he don't...okay, let's suppose for a moment he wants us to fail him, would that not also be destructive toward atheist? God let's us be who we want to be and we must decide. There is consequence for every action, good or bad. Why must evryone Blame God for the bad when they don't thank him for the good? I have alot of troubles that I must deal with, but he has blessed me with so much. I would die a martyr What would you be dying for?????
