I've seen people ask questions about homosexuality and what it says in the Bible and some so-called Christians will say "I don't think God cares who you lay with"
Do you think people today actually read the Bible and follow what it says or do they just pick and choose what they want to read? I was under the impression that you followed what the Bible says and not just pick and choose. I didn't think God has changed His mind on all this stuff. It seems to me He was pretty clear.
So do you think people actually follow what the Bible says or do they try to make it into something more to their liking?

Ash: You just proved my point. You don't actually follow what the Bible says.

I have also seen on here where some Christians say Jesus isn't God. I'm not the smartest person in the world, but I do know that Jesus said He was God. (John 10:30) There is also other scriptures in the Bible that proves Jesus was God in the flesh.

You have a very good point and I agree that people these days like to hear good things and like to have there ears tickled with with feel good religion preached by preachers who do not want to offend anyone. The bible still is the same and God's word will remain the same and all who reject it will face God's wrath. God is love but God also does not like sin and will pour out His wrath on all who disobey Him

The bible can be read in different ways. Some people think that the Old Testament shouldn't apply to modern Christians.

Some people think that there's a lot of cultural influence in the bible that would only be relevant if you lived in the desert 2,000 years ago.

Some people to pick and choose what they are going to follow.

Consider this though. There's a passage in the bible that says for a man to lie with a man like a woman is an abomination. The original text of that particular passage says that for a man to lie with a man in a woman's bed is ritually unclean. Big difference in the original meaning and the way it's presented in modern bibles. The bible is full of changes like that. If you really want the original intention, you have to go back and work from a literal translation.

Or you could just figure that Jesus never said a word about it so it must not have mattered to him.

Actually Christians Treat their Religion According to their Life, and We Being a Muslim Treat Our Life According to Our Religion Islam. So We Have Several Restriction that are By Allah and we have to Obey,
And in the Chiristanity when they Find Any Hurdel in their religion thay Changed to make their Purpose so ther are too many Contradiction thats why Chiristians Cant make a Single Mind so they are Divererting from Their Faith to Atheists and other Relogions that Means they are not Satisfied by their Hundereds of Different Bibles.
They Have Lost the Old and Original Testament. so They are JUST WONDERING.

PAUL SAID, "God is not the author of confusion," (I Corinthians 14:33), yet never has a book produced more confusion than the bible! There are hundreds of denominations and sects, all using the "inspired Scriptures" to prove their conflicting doctrines.

Why do trained theologians differ? Why do educated translators disagree over Greek and Hebrew meanings? Why all the confusion? Shouldn't a document that was "divinely inspired" by an omniscient and omnipotent deity be as clear as possible?

"If the trumpet give an uncertain sound," Paul wrote in I Corinthians 14:8, "who shall prepare himself to the battle? So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air." Exactly! Paul should have practiced what he preached. For almost two millennia, the bible has been producing a most "uncertain sound."

The problem is not with human limitations, as some claim. The problem is the bible itself. People who are free of theological bias notice that the bible contains hundreds of discrepancies. Should it surprise us when such a literary and moral mish-mash, taken seriously, causes so much discord?

Very few people can even name the 3 eras of time in the Bible, much less know if a book is in the New or Old Testament. The majority of people hear John 3:16 enough they can almost quote that, and that is the extent of their knowledge or desire to know the Bible. People do not think they have to know the Bible, they think Jesus will jerk them up and save them regardless of what they do if they once let it cross their mind that there really was a Jesus.

Then these people make the world think THEY are what Christianity is all about. gaggg

As I read your question, a portion of Scripture came to mind, "For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. "
2 Timothy 4: 3-4

I think the Word of God is very clear about HOMOSEXUALITY and SEXUAL IMMORALITY - there's no debate about what God's opinion is. He makes it very clear both in the Old and New Testament. God did not call us to uncleanness but in HOLINESS.
I think the World is increasingly becoming self-centered and godless - more and more people are subscribing to their own selfish ideologies and ignoring what God is saying.
God is REAL and in His MERCY and LOVE He revealed Himself to us and has actually shown us the WAY. If we fail to listen - there will be consequences!
We must all come to a state of selflessness and realize that it is NOT about US...it's about God.
Our lives...our bodies are NOT our own - they belong to God.

Yes. Many do not actually follow the Bible because they do not know how. The bible is full of spiritual meanings behind every letters such that caused many to misunderstood them:
2 Peter 3:16
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

The bible has been locked (Daniel 12:9) for ages and not many are they it was revealed for; but only to those few people (Mark 4:11
And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:)

Most try to make it fit THEM.

As to the second part about Jesus being God.
He never said he was.
This is what he said'
(John 1:18) No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is in the bosom [position] with the Father is the one that has explained him.

Note that the first 'God' has a capital G. This is Jehovah God, Almighty God, Jesus' father in heaven.
The only begotten god [ small g] is Jesus, god referring to a spiritual being. Just like Satan is also a small g god.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.

Jesus always directed prayers to his Father, and never claimed equality.
(John 5:19) Therefore, in answer, Jesus went on to say to them: “Most truly I say to YOU, The Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he beholds the Father doing. For whatever things that One does, these things the Son also does in like manner.

(John 5:22) For the Father judges no one at all, but he has committed all the judging to the Son,

If Jesus was Almighty God, the above would be a lie.

As to Jesus being a spiritual being, he had a pre-human existence ALONGSIDE his Father.
Proverbs 8; 22-31

this is backed by ;
(John 1:2) This one was in [the] beginning with God.

with...alongside....

I would think 95% of the American professing christians do not regularly read their bibles nor submit to the Word of God.

Do you really think they are converted?

603,550 Israelites came out of Egypt, only two from that generation made it to the Promised Land. What is the percentage?

Today, the vast majority of the deluded American professing christians think that they all are going to heaven!! It is mass delusion, ending with destruction when they do not subscribe to the Strait Gate, Narrow Way Gospel (Matt 7:13-29)

They are not doing the will of the Father in heaven!!

You're right...there are those who join the church, but still pick and choose, and there are those who won't join the church because they already know they'll end up picking and choosing.

bottom line...We can either let Scripture have authority over our life, and let it be the judge of our lifestyles,...
or...
we can let our lifestyles have control over what we do, and decide our lifestyles should be the judge over Scripture.

Can I follow everything I'm supposed to? No...but only because I stumble and fail, not because I've already decided it does not apply to me.

My prayer is or more Christians to wake up and realize it will not be much longer before we go from being ridiculed for wanting Scripture to be our authority, to being condemened for this, and when theat happens, it won't be long before we are convicted for standing for our convictions.

I have to agree. Some people try to change the Bible to something that is more "comfortable" to them. Christians are suppose to follow what God has set down, but some of them don't.
