My bf & I spent 4 years together, know that we have no future together, we can't stop due to attractions each time we talk about separation, is it better to stop gradully (every week first, every 2 weeks then ...) or stop & say goodbye suddenly for ever at a point of time?

I don't know about how to break up a 4 year relationship, its going to hurt no matter what. But when it comes to dating, most people never consider this but, when you date, most people don't intend for the relationship to end, that is, you don't get involved with someone just to break up in the end. So where does that leave you to go? To marriage... So if you decided to end this, that is up to you, and there is no easy way around it, but what ever you do, before you get into a relationship, consider the fact that you should only date someone that you don't intend to break up with, ever, I know its hard, most people say that you'll never learn what is out there, but that is not true, good luck and God Bless

If it doesn't work then say goodbye and go your separate ways immediately. Wish each other luck, maybe even stay good friends but never jump into the sack with each other again.

You can't end any relationship suddenly, it won't work. You need to say good bye then cut all tyes. I had to - you'll both come out the other side happier, and stronger for it.

Dragging it out will make it more painful and will give the other person the impression that the relationship is salvagable.

(suddenly) the quicker you finish it the easier it will be if you drag it a long you will only make it harder for yourself and your bf

cut it off...don't make it into an ordeal...gradually seperating makes things difficult...just be real about everything with him
