erica. and all the killings and kidnapping that go on in mexico everyday? in laredo there have been more than 60 people kidnapped by druga cartel. Thats LAredo here in the USA. many people leave mexico because they fear they will be next to be kidnapped or killed by drug dealers fighting for territory and your complaining about ilegal blah blah blah. You wake up in the morning all happy and go to work or school. You dont worry about being gunned down or your kids being kidnapped for ransom.Last year there was a Fiesta in some town and drug dealers had killed rivals and chopped off their heads and threw them in the crowd of people that were partying. how would you like to see that at your next party?

I agree, I'm a guerita (red hair and green eyes) sometimes people totally freak out when I say I am Mexican (born there). They say noooo you have red hair and green eyes you can't be Mexican...I guess they are just ignorant!

I had a summer job working at a social services and you know what we would try to help these people get jobs and tell them about programs to get a technical degree or even a college degree. It really shocked me that a lot of people born in this country wouldn't want to work doing these type of jobs.

So the jobs were given to social workers who help day labors. And guess what they would work for minimum wage or less and I can honestly tell you they are not criminals we help them get their paper work and get a sponsor. Most of these people come here to make a better living and to feed their families.

*edit* i know what your talking about I am from Chihuahua originally but I go back frequently(the state's capital) and in Cd. Juarez innocent people have been in the cross fire just driving home from work or just go to the corner store for some food items

I am by no means a racist but in answer to your question. Look at Mexican Immigration laws. Now look at ours. Yours are much worse with the consequences severe if caught. I cannot own property, fly another nation's flag in protest. If i am caught illegally in your country i am jailed for the full sentence imposed by your laws then deported. I do not in no way shape or form get any benefits of any kind from your government whether it be provincial or national. I understand the problems your country faces with corruption and cartel influence and terror tactics . But in all honesty that is your problem and not ours. I agree that you do jobs most of us don't want but is that any reason to come here illegally instead of going through proper channels. I think not. So you see when i have to pay more to cover rising costs i get a little perturbed. My ssn has mysteriously pop-ed up in places i have never been and earnings have been added to the account. Now i owe the IRS money that is being garnished from me. Illegal immigrants have done this to me and when i say immigrants i don't just mean Mexicans but all illegals

I agree! All this "Illegal immigrants are criminals?" WHAT??? Just because you decided to make a mark on the ground and said someone can't pass it because of their race and where they were born.....well thats wrong. That doesnt make them criminals. Now some people that are criminals do come here from Mexico...as well as Canada, Europe, Asia, ect.
Where I work, I work as a certified Translator and a superintendient. We employee a lot of Mexicans. I have NEVER met one guy that was here and getting in trouble. They are here because if they work 40 hours a week in Mexico, they are making 25$. So they need more money. Usually their wive's or parents need surgery and they cant afford it. Their kids need to eat, they need to go to the doctor, they hav no idea what is going to happen to them in the next few days.

They work really really hard. They are on time, dont talk back and just work with no questions asked. I can tell you only 11 Americans have applied for these jobs and they were paid at $10/hr (More than the Mexicans, because they speak English and have experience) and ten of them didnt work out! They just didnt show up without calling, they wrecked our vehicles, they stole from us, they hit cars, they got in fights.

So you tell me!

I think you are kinda ranting here a bit.

But you DO bring up a subject I like. I find it detestable that such excellent folks, many of whom are from Mexico ...and are here legally, get so much bad press as a result of the ignorance of many US citizens about who is here legaly and who is not.
Actually, it doesn't matter even if they are illegal, many are nice. Basic problem is though, that even nice people who know they are here illegally are much more likely to keep on doing things that aren't legal. It goes from bad to worse and ruins the groove for everyone of us. Including the illegals.

That's why we can't allow it in part. It creates a double standard. I am concerned for the legal immigrants and the heat they take. I can't help but think this again degrades what could be happy relationships between people, all of whom are basically good. It creates fear, uncertainty and distrust. We gotta stop this stuff for everyone's benefit.

Once that has been done, things will return to I respect you and you respect me ...because we both belong here together ...and we are LEGAL.

I think part of the problem is that the words 'hate' and 'racism' are thrown around too much. Sure there probably is some of that going around, but I think there are a lot of people who cannot identify between racism and intolerance. Part of the reason Iran and Venezuela may be laughing at us is the very clear lack of unity we seem to have. We have an incredible lack of respect for our president, sure you don't have to like him, you don't have to agree with his decisions, but it looks horrible to the rest of the world that so many of the U.S.A's citizens speak so lowly of him, especially those citizens from other countries that actually have a horrible dictator in their midst, it tends to show extreme ignorance on Americas part.
That said, it is ludicrous that anyone would expect the American people to respect someone who is in their country illegally, we have a right to know who is here and what they want, we have laid down laws that say if you want to come in you must be documented, it doesn't matter if they come here for a better life, to work, or for their children to have a brighter future, it doesn't matter that we may not want to work in the fields or at a motel making beds, it doesn't matter if they are minding their own business, this is our land and our home, you need to be invited, you don't just walk right in. That in itself is disrespectful to all of the American people.

Illigal immigration is the new "boogy man" for the Republican party and the radical conservatives. They are the new WMD's that the Republicans are trying to implant in stupid people's minds to get a vote. I wouldn't be surprised if after the elections they all agreed to change opinion and finaly educate these stupid bastards about how illigal immigrants are actually carrying the country on their shoulders. A couple of responses to the ignorant comments that have been made so far...

1 - Illigal people can't claim tax returns.

2 - they can't get foodstamps not any other goverment-sponsered benefit designed for the lazy bastards that are born here and refuse to get a job!

3 - They are as big of criminals as your great grand parents who swam a freaking ocean to get here...and they didn't murder any indians to take away their land...who's the criminal again???

4 - They have to pay taxes, and they do...

5 - How can you call it a "failed amnesty"??? After 1986 the US enjoyed one of the best economies in it's history???

6 - People making negative comments ARE racists wether they want to admit it or not. If this people with blond hair and blue eyes begging them for a legal status the situation would be very different, they would show some compassion.

Mexico needs to clean up Mexico. It is not the job nor the duty of the United States to take on the burdens of Mexico or any other country for that matter. All countries including Mexico have a strict immigration policy. Mexico enforces their immigration laws and the United States has begun to enforce the law. All countries have a right to say who and how someone will migrate into their country. The United States is no different, you can call us all the names you like. It doesn't matter. We have the right to demand that someone come here legally. We have a right to expect you to obey the law, learn our language, respect our flag, respect our people and in turn you will be an American and will have the respect of the American People.

Do you know what 'racism' means?

It means based on race, not based on something someone does illegally, like come to a country illegally and put their children in your children's schools at a cost of $10,000 per child per year taken from your child's education money.

Being against that, regardless of the race of the person doing it, is not racism.

We didn't pick the race of the people violating our laws, and our laws are there for good reason.

Illegal is illegal and that is all that matters. They are in all areas of the work force not just the fields or hotel. 68 deported from a factory I work at. Your mother was an immigrant and I would bet legal. I do not respect someone who breaks our laws and then demands equal rights. Respect is earned not given just as citizenship is earned not given to lawbreakers. It is a matter of law not race.

Many Americans do not respect illegal hispanics because they ran from their problems and want the American taxpayer to bail them out. Let me ask you this, If all of America was illegal mexican this instant would it be anymore successful in one week than what your people created in mexico? I know many fine Americans who were of mexican decent but they are now Americans in every sense of the word and i respect them immensely and call many of them my friends and some are my very best friends. Quit defending the illegals amigo because no one hates you because you are of Mexican decent and encourage your illegal cousins to become Americans in word and deed and we will then respect them.

With so many Venezuelans pouring into FL to escape Chavez, I don't think they're laughing. Then again, some of the Ven's here are routing for Chavez, although, funny enough, they don't want to go back, hm.

If you know what has happened to Radio Caracas there, and in FL, maybe you would have a better grasp of politics. If you knew the socio-economic status of the Ven's pouring into FL, then maybe. BTW, the Ven's are so bigoted it's unreal.

I don't think Iran is exactly laughing.

Why should we respect those who do not respect us? Our laws. The people who have applied to come here legally, have paid a lot of money they could ill afford, and are still waiting, while illegals jump in front of the line. Then the ones who have gone the legal way wait longer. Are they being respected by illegal aliens?

Your paragraph is coming from emotion only, you have no facts to back up what you are saying, yet we do have facts to refute what you are stating to be true.

You might as well join La Raza. They make about as much sense as your lack of knowledge.
