well my dad left me and my mom homeless when i was 8...he left my mom for another women..and together they have 2 kids...and hes there for her...takes her out on picknics and is everything that a father for her...as for me...i dont even get a birthday card...or a phone call...i'll get an email every blue moon..and i'm the one who keeps it in touch...its just hard sometimes knowing what he could of been for me..but wasnt

Sweetie, that is not as uncommon as you might think, but it's always sad and hurtful. And oddly enough, you half-sister may ALSO think that your shared dad is nicer to you! Whatsmore, it's unlikely that your dad really understands that he is showing preference for one child over the other.
It almost always has more to do with your father's relationships with your mothers than yourselves.
Pick a good time to have a conversation with your Dad, when you are not upset and accusing, and he has time to really listen. Good luck.

He probably sees that your half sister is just in need of more fathering than you. You know how the old story goes, from the Bible actually. There were two kids. One kid ask that he receive in inheritance early so that he can go do what he wants. So the father gave it to him. He went, got mad crunk up in the hizzy, bought some prostitutes, some clothes, who knows what else. Then he was broke. He realized he made a mistake. So when he went home, his father rejoiced that his son had returned to him. Imagine how the other son felt seeing all of this, when he was the one that listened to his father and made the better choices. It's not that your father doesn't love you, he is just probably really proud of the person you are, and is worried about your half sister. This same thing happened to me when I was younger with my cousins and my family. But now I am the trusted one among them all, now it is so clear to me why they were not so worried about me, they knew I was going to make it and make them proud.

U KNOW I WENT THROUGH KIND OF THE SAME THING WHILE I WAS GROWING UP EXCEPT FOR IT WAS ME THAT WAS THE STEP KID THAT GOT TREATED BETTER WHEN I WAS 3 AND MY BROTHER WAS 5 MY MOTHER REMARRIED MY STEPFATHER AND WE WERE HIS "KIDS"WHEN MY MOM AND HIM HAD KIDS TOGETHER WE BECAME THE STEP KIDS LIKE OUTSIDERS IN A WAY AND HE TREATED US DIFFERENTLY MY FATHER NEVER HAD A RELATIONSHIP WITH ME SO I LOOKED AT MY STEPDAD AS IF HE WAS MY DAD SO WHEN MY LIL SISTER GREW UP THERE KID TOGETHER IWAS OLDER OBVIOUSLY AND IF I GOT INTO ANY TROUBLE HE WOULD TRY TO FIND WAYS TO MAKE ME ACT BETTER N E WAY HE COULD HE THOUGH I WAS DEPRESSED SO HE BOUGHT ME STUFF TO TRY TO GET MW TO BE HAPPY SO I WOULDN'T GET INTO TROUBL N E MORE AND HIS DAUGHTER AND SON WERE JELOUS BUT THEY NEEDED TO UNDERSTAND ONE THING I THINK ALOT OF THE REASON MY STEP DAD WAS DOING MORE FOR ME IS BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE NE BODY TO CALL DAD SO HE PROBALLY WAS TRYING A LITTLE BIT HARDER WITH ME VERSES HIS OWN BECAUSE I FELT OUT OF PLACE SO IT WAS MORE A THING OF MAKING ME FEEL LIKE HIS OWN SO I PROBALLY DIDN'T GROW UP TO BE SOOOOOOO BAD AND IN A WAY IT WAS WORSE FOR ME BECAUSE WHEN MY LIL BRO AND SIS GOT OLD ENOUGH AND I LEFT THE HOUSE THEY GOT WAY BETTER STUFF THAN I EVER DID AND GET TOTALLY DIFFERENT TREATMENT AND NOW I'M THE ONE WONDERING WHY I WAS TEATED DIFFERENT SO MAYBE THAT'S THE CASE WITH U AND THE TABLES WILL TURN OR NOT BUT JUST KEEP IN MIND IF HE LIKES HER MORE THEN HE'S THE ON THAT HAS TO STAND B 4 GOD FOR NOT TAKING CARE OF HIS OWN BUT U NEED TO HONOR UR FATHER NO MATTER WHAT N E WAYS GOOD LUCK HOPE IT WORKS OUT AND THAT U UNDERSTOOD WHAT I WAS TRYING TO SAY IT SEEMED LIKE IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A LITTLE HARD 2 UNDERSTAND SO JUST HOPE U DID

It is god on your part that you are maintaining contact with your Dad. Keep it up and increase the frequency. Try your best to reach closer to him.You should stop comparing his treatment towards your step sister and yourself.Such comparisons are not going to give you any solace but will bring grief only.
