First, not telling others how they should be living. No one is perfect, including the christians, so there should be no dictating of how they should live their lives.
I'd actually have to gie you a tangible example - have you meet my former boss. She's a Methodist minister. She's made every effort to accept people for who they are. She helps whenever she can. She accepts people for who they are, not for their religion. She would rather die than tell anyone they were helbound, because she thinks that is NOT the message that should be sent. She is loving, kind, great sense of humor, and knows her stuff. She lives her beliefs and owns them, and knows why.
You'd have to meet her to fully understand. She is my ideal of a good christian. So is her husband. I'll happily count them friends for life.

Well first of all there is so little proof that Jesus really existed . More likely he was a figure constucted from the likes of at least several Christ figures .
But if you accept the Biblical Jesus Christ as an actual person you have many things to consider . He believed in civil disobedience . He overturned the money changers tables . People like PETA use this as justification for damaging research facillities . Fundies use it as a justification for hurting people in the field of abortions and birth control . Jesus made extra wine for a wedding where people were already well filled with alcohol . People use this as a justification for getting drunk and even using other drugs . Many of the things He said on the Mount had to do with treating people , especially the children, well . And also to treat animals well . I'm all for those things . People say that Jesus committed suicide on the cross . And they use this as a justification for euthanasia and suicide .
I pretty much think if you add up all the actual facts ( minus the little stories) about the possible Jesus , you pretty much just get your average decent man rebelling against the mistakes of his government .

Honestly, that would be an impossibility, since there are so many contradictions in the bible. The same JC who promoted turn the other cheek and be meek on one hand was violently throwing people out with the other, and stealing donkeys, egotistically demanding they be stolen in his name.
So I don't believe there is such a thing as a true christian. The best one can hope for is one who acts like an atheist should; intelligently, logically, and honestly.

I'm not an atheist, but I'm answering anyway.
You should read the WHOLE bible. If you haven't done that, you don't know what you are claiming to believe.
Then you should take this quiz:
http://ffrf.org/quiz/bquiz.php
And see what your score is.
Then, if you still claim the title Christian, define who you really believe - Moses, Jesus, or Paul - because there is more than train of thought represented in the bible.
Also, you should know where the mistranslations are and be able to explain why you choose one version over another.
And when someone makes a logical argument, respond to it with logic.
You can and should ignore the insults from people asking baited questions. We should all be civil toward one another.

"More than these pitiful one liners if at all possible, Thanks."
It would be highly unlikely that you could stop being such nasty people - so many of you act exactly the way you SAY that atheists act.
So much Pot and Kettle stuff with fundies.
If more of you could start walking the walk instead of spruiking the talk.
I have to add here that Christians (a rare breed on Y!A) are generally nicer than xians or fundies.
If more of you could be like Bishop John Shelby Spong or Bishop Desmond Tutu the world would be a much nicer place.
I can sit and listen to either of those to blokes talk so much longer than I could Hinn, Copeland, Robertson or anyone of those other sanctimonious parasites.
I hope that was better than a one-liner.

What's a true christian ? Nobody seems to agree on this. Christians have been arguing and persecuting each other for centuries. How can an Atheist know the answer to this question when the christians are so confused?

Quiet, subdued, and meek. Quit trying to tell other people how to live their lives. Concentrate on living YOU'RE life the way you believe God intended. No holier than thou bullsh!t. No stupid fish on the back of your cars, and above all, no trying to change laws and/or make laws that are based on your religious beliefs. No whining about laws that already exist and don't coincide precisely with your religion. Stop bashing evolution and mis-interpreting it. If you have an argument that is against evolution and can back it up with any science, well then, by all means........ If not then don't say anything. Don't Answer Questions by saying, "If god didn't, then who/how/why?"Admit that the theory of irreducible complexity is a fancy way of saying, "I don't get it. God must have done it".
No wars or killing in the name god. Stop trying to convert people against they're will. Stop giving money to douche bags on T.V No quoting of the bible directly for one argument and then when a non-believer does it, tell him that ,"that's not what it really means, you're misinterpreting it". No being a hypocrite in general. Let gays and lesbians get married and shut up about **** that other people do that you don't believe in. No one is forcing you to have an abortion or marry someone of the same sex. Most Importantly, stop trying to close down my adult bookstores!!!!!!
Try that for a start, I'll have more later.

There is no such thing as a 'true Christian.' A 'good' Christian, in an atheist's eyes, is kind and supportive to everyone, since many Christians claim that these are the most important virtues of the Bible. However, from the perspective of a fundamentalist, a 'good' Christian is one who follows the Bible literally, condemning gays, atheists, and people who eat shrimp to death.

well, just be a decent human being instead of making a big frigging deal out of your religion all the time would help a lot. believing in a deity isn't an unusual habit. billions of humans worship one deity or another or whole pantheons. Christians might want to accept the truth that their version of The Truth is not the ONLY version of The Truth that is true. spiritual Truth is true for every individual who believes whatever it is they believe. respecting that truth would be a good start to gaining the respect of folks not of your religion. it would help make for a more peaceful and polite world as well. nice side effect.

i'm going to action picture star the question by way of fact I do in actuality discover it thrilling, and it is worth of a action picture star, yet I had a droop which you weren't being completely honest with me once you in straightforward terms defined your self as a non-non secular theist earlier :p so a techniques as my tolerance of Christianity is going, no, it does no longer plenty exchange my opinion in any respect. For one ingredient, i understand too plenty with regard to the religion, and function studied it too deeply. In my youthful days I heavily pondered going to Seminary and starting to be a member of the priesthood, yet after the two thoroughly examining the bible and examining ethical philosophy, i found the completed foundation of the religion, extraordinarily the seen hell, to be repugnant to me, and no faith that has an enduring hell could be good, and could this variety of God exist that could create this variety of place and deliver human beings there then he might easily be evil. My tolerance of Christians is desperate on somebody foundation. plenty how Christians are linked to the word "Hate the sin, love the sinner," I say "Hate the Christianity, love the Christian." the place the assumption of God is worried, i'm nonetheless waiting for a working definition that i've got faith soft with. i'm no longer closed to the assumption of God in any respect. I merely think of that actual everyone has the assumption incorrect.
