ps3 update question?

do i have to update to every latest update to play online? if not how do i stop the ps3 from alerting me that a new update is available?

You really should update your PS3 everytime there is a new update. The new 2.00 update enables the vibration function for the DualShock 3 controllers. Even though the DualShock 3 controllers aren't out yet, you have to download the update in order to use them. I always download the lastest updates for the PS3. Plus, the new updates also adds newer features with the PS3.

I guess that you don't have to update the PS3 to play online, but as newer games come out, they will require that you update the PS3 and if you don't update the PS3 then you can't play those games.
