Definitely take out the seeds while the fruit is immersed in water -- the juice of the pomegranate is a lovely holiday red, but it's not so lovely when it's splashed everywhere and stained on your clothes! The juice of the pomegranate, when reduced by half to a syrup, can be a nice topping to vanilla ice cream -- sprinkle some of the fresh seeds on top for a fresh lovely crunch. That same syrup is good as a glaze for savory dishes, like pork tenderloin. The seeds can also be sprinkled over the plated dish for a nice refreshing crunch. The seeds are fantastic on salads -- fresh mixed greens, sliced pears, crumbles of gorgonzola or bits of soft goat cheese, all drizzled with a balsamic vinaigrette and sprinkled with fresh pomegranate seeds.

Get a big bowl and put warm water in it,

Cut the tops and bottoms off.

Slice fruit down the middle to break it open.

Finish breaking open with hands.

Continue to separate membranes from the seed fruit bits. The membranes will float. The seeds will sink to the bottom

After you are done, remove membranes and discard.

Pour the water through a large strainer to separate the seed fruit from the water.

Put in bowl and enjoy.

Some people do not like the seeds, just the encased juice that surrounds them, however it's pefectly healthy and recommended to chomp on the seeds and swallow them. You get great fiber in your diet this way

You just cut it in half and scoop the seeds out with a spoon but it is messy. I have juices some of the seeds in a juicer and used it in homemade dressing and then sprinkled the seeds on top of the salad-a good way to add the antioxidants in!

Crush the berries. Strain the juice out.
