If the dog is registered as a pure breed, (Kennel Control Council or such) he will have to change the registry of ownership over to you. Don't know the fees for that though. Other than that you may have to re-register the dog in your county/municipality, depending on the local by-laws - fees for that vary from place to place, and whether or not the dog is spayed or not.
Then there's transport to get the dog to you.
As far as I am aware there are no other charges.

You go get the dog, say thank you, and leave. As far as registrations go, their only use is for breeding and selling so if you are not breeding or selling, you need do nothing. If you are transporting across state boundaries, technically you need a health certificate and rules are different for evey state boundary crossed but if you are driving, no one will know the difference unless you volunteer the information. It will be required if you are flying the dog. Your vet can explain what shots are required/needed in your area as well as whether or not you need a licence and where to get one. Have your relative's vet FAX the health record to your vet.

There is no adoption process. There are fees if you get one from the pound but anyone can give anyone else a dog.

well, you have to work for the dogs owner for 5 years, and pay the owner 50 bucks a month for the 5 years you're working for them. and, you have to save all the dogs droppings for that time and return to the owner. you should let the dog eat at the table with you, so as to prove you'll take good care of fido. have you been in the closet long?

in case you undertake from a look after, you will would desire to fill out an application they're going to ask all styles of questions with regard to the appliance wanting to correctly known in case you own any animals at the instant, who your vet is, how lots you think of would desire to be spent each and each year on a canines, is each physique at your domicile of residing pleased with it? and so forth. they're going to need references (not relatives). they're going to place calls and offering they don't locate something unusual they're going to approve you. If the canines already has purposes on it then the 1st application will often get the canines, regardless of the shown fact that, they're going to preapprove you to undertake, meaning you will not would desire to fill out an application on yet another canines you elect and you'd be waiting to take it domicile ideal there and then as long as yet another guy or woman hasn't placed an application in on the canines you like. in case you undertake from a rescue team then you definately will would desire to flow via a greater stable screening technique, they're going to easily verify out references, interview you in intensity and verify out your domicile, they're lots stricter as they don't desire to threat the canines going to the incorrect domicile. they might have the desire to make advantageous that the canines is like minded with you and each physique on your loved ones. reliable success.

PROCESS?? There isn't a process, other than, you promise to give it a forever, loving, safe home. If you can't make that obligation, then don't do it.

He drives the dog over and drops it off.
If he's nice, he brings a bag of dog food.
