Prophecy. Truth.

All I think of religion is that, back in the day things couldn't be explained so the only way at the time was that there was a higher being that could do magical wonderful things above that of the powers a human contained. Later figuring that they should try to please the god(s) by way of sacrifice, but all civilizations had different ways, whether it be the blood of a 17 year old young man, or that of a goat (not Satanism). Any who talking about isms and others like that Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism they are more of ways of living life, which then I'm like is the bible just more of a sub context, though I have never read it and know nothing about it, but I think maybe its just trying to tell you a way to live your life to be good. But you know there are laterals out there and they can come and poop on parties at times, and change ways of things the way they weren't supposed to be perceived.

things about my dad and religion is that he doesn't really believe in or like the idea of going to a church to listen to someone ramble on, and give his money out and away. and thinking back to the old times churches had a state at a time that they had become corrupted. Also in churches they at times would have more power than that of the government and officials. that shows the power of the dynastic circle.

Listen to your heart or your inner voice. I believe that we are all connected to the Divine Mother/Father. The more we listen to the inner voice the stronger and louder it becomes. When we read spiritual texts we will be able to discern the truth and lies. I believe that the Bible is full of both.

One of the reasons I believe it doesn't is that it is full of direct contradictions. Good discussions of the specifics Here:

and Here:

I also know that most of the stories in the bible are stolen from older civilizations - like Noah and the ark from Nuah, a Chaldean rain Goddess who came down in the arc of the crescent moon to save the animals from a flood.

TRUTH IS DIFFERENT THINGS TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE

As I go through the bible applying prophecy to Jesus first coming, [ and he those after him ], I saw some one else applying it to Muhammad. [ Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the Old Testament ]:
I saw it being ask is he was in the bible and him being about 600 years after Christ. SO I SEE FROM THIS THAT TRUTH IS DIFFERENT THING TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE.

I had never dreamed that people from other parts of the world did such.

Do you mean, how does one know the Bible is true? The historical record of the Dead Sea Scrolls collaborates the authenticity and the reliability of the Holy Bible, completely.
Conduct research on the Dead Sea Scrolls or better still, borrow or purchase one of the many books available on them.
Biblical scholars have collaborated the validity and accuracy of the Holy Bible by the Dead Sea Scrolls and science (Archeology). It is really amazing, that a book thousands of years old, the world's number 1 seller, retains its accuracy after thousands of years !

It's one of those books that has stood the test of time.

There are other books, cultures and experiences....they all contain truth.

It must be true, because the book of Acts tell how Peter and the disciples took all the believer's property and money and held it for the common good. It explains that a couple who withheld some property "fell dead" at their feet. It doesn't say God killed them, but I think Peter did. Oh, and that is communism, by the way.

They don't. They BELIEVE it contains the truth, because other people told them that if they don't believe it they'll go to hell forever. It's really as simple as that.
