Why are churches threatened by it? Don't they know that if you have too much of anything...you tire of it, and move on?

To forbid it seems to me, to be counter-productive.

Am I wrong?

The problem I have with ANY religion is the lack of a sense of humor. Every religion is all SO serious ALL of the time. Just read their scriptures, no fun stuff, no jokes! All the fun stuff is banned, forbidden, a SIN. (Which, conversely, makes all of these things more attractive to the average person) I'd be worried if I really believed. But then if you are a believer, then God made me this way, doubts and all according to his divine plan and infinite wisdom, so how can God condemn me since God MADE me this way? Wouldn't that be, what, hypocritical of God to blame me for faults God put into me according to his divine plan? Like the Supreme Court Justice who said he could not define pornography but knew it when he saw it, I have seen porn, and yes, I have found some to be boring and simply put, really bad acting. The church wants to run society according to Church rules and that meas no sex before marriage. Why? Because it is fun stuff. Marriage was created by the church as a way of controlling the ignorant masses, a way of getting men to stick around to raise the kids. Birth control takes kids out of the equation which means sex becomes recreational instead of procreational. At least one religion says no birth control, no sex outside of marriage, and no sex in marriage unless for making a kid, and lastly, marriage is forever as God does not grant a divorce, annulment yes under certain strict circumstances, divorce no. And if you are not of that religion, you cannot come beyond the bar in their church. If God is so kind and benevolent and so good, why are things like Katrina and the Tsunami and 9/11 then? Exactly HOW do these things fit into God's Plan anyway? And why is it exactly that Noah and his ark were the ONLY ones NOT to be blatantly killed? Isn't that really an act of murder? What made only those in the ark so special? I can NOT believe everyone and everything else was SO bad it had to be wiped out! We're talking a cruel God here, a vindictive God, a murderous God, to wipe out so much and save so little by comparison. Religion exists for one reason and one reason alone, benefit themselves, just exactly like politicians, come to think on it. There IS good porn out there and I have not yet grown tired of looking at the good stuff I've managed to collect over the years. Just remember, it's ALL in God's Plan, porn and all, so get over it and let me get back to perusing my collection. I just would like for all the sanctimonious, self-righteous bastards to get off my back and STOP spouting their religion my way.

You're almost right. It does get boring at some point. That's the nature of any sin......so you move on to something worse. Pornography has been linked to every sexual criminal, that and childhood issues. Yes, when your addiction (whatever that is) ceases to give you the high you need, then you get into heavier things to get that high. Churches aren't threatened by it particularly, but they are in the business of helping people to recover from the bondage of sin.....or better yet, preventing people from falling into the snare of sin addiction. Sin never just hurts the one who does it, it hurts the innocent people around them, too.

well jsut because you get bored by it doesnt mean that other people wont.
it's like smoking. for some people, they can take a first smoke and not get addicted immediatly. for other people, they can get addicted incredibly fast.
so it's best not to let sin enter a church before it starts spreading.

I tend to agree. It is boring. Much of the boredom is caused by the contrived and absurd scenarios. If they just showed couples who really wanted to get it on doing what comes naturally, it would be more interesting.

And you wonder why their's so many cases of priests molesting children? To forbid something that's perfectly natural can cause internal explosion.

Why are religious people threatened by porn? Why are atheists offended by televangelists?

Seems to me that in both instances, you can shut it off an not look at it, and thus not be offended.

Totally boring. Porn is Junkies posing as actors who are a disgrace to there family doing anything for a buck. I can't get past that. Maybe the church can't either.
