The Mayans had the same zodiac constellations as Europeans, huh? That's news to me.
Actually, I have researched it a bit, and while I didn't find any sort of doomsday prophecies that people like to keep talking about, I didn't find what you're talking about either.
From what I found out about it, the actual astrological event on which the Mayans based the end of this current "age" already happened back in the 90's...their astronomy and calculations just weren't accurate enough to measure the event that precisely, and the number they came up with was 2012.
I'm interested as to where you got your information about pisces and aquarious--email me if you want.

Because there is (and has apparantly been for a long time) a fascination with the "end of the world". Yes, the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012 is an ending.... BUT it also signals the beginning of the new Baktun (if I remember the term correctly)....
You find a similar concept in many areas of the world such as the Yugas of Hindu belief but there is ALWAYS a beginning after the ending EXCEPT in Christian and Muslim teachings.....

They say that the Mayans told jebus crispy to tell the flying spaghetti monster to coerce the invisible pink unicorn into doing bestiality movies with the 4 horseman of the apocalypse, thus inducing a super orgasm which shall bring forth ragnarok, trowing the elephants off balance from the turtle and making the disk fall to hades and going kaput.

Because someone made a TV show about how supposedly the Mayans predicted the end of the world because that's when their calendar stops.
Don't believe everything you see on TV.

That's what I keep telling them. I finally stopped answering the questions about it. I feel like a tape recorder. Religious superstition holds many in its sway. If you are constantly looking for spiritual significance in everything, you miss the picture.
Nikola, funny. lol

Thank you Toadaly - most people only want to believe the tablloid supermarket crapola rather than the actual history of the deal.

People are just worrying and freaking out for nothing. Relax and enjoy life. No need to stress out over something that doesn't concern us since the same civilization that came up with this no longer exists to back it up.

Lots of us watch the History Channel, a few of us pick up superficial stuff from it.
