I would suggest that you discuss with your former youth pastor why he believes the way he does. Then speak with your current Senior Pastor as to why he (and the church) believe the way they do. Then read your Bible and pray about it. That is so you will know what to believe. As far as if he should have been asked to leave. Yes, the church has a set of doctrinal beliefs in their constitution and by laws. If you are going to be a part of the leadership team, you need to believe and teach what the doctrine of your church is. It is very hard to teach something you do not believe in. I would think the youth pastor felt uncomfortable there any way. I know I did in my previous church. I was the asst Pastor. I resigned several months ago for differing beliefs...also about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I do not know which side believes what..in your situation. Again.....please study and pray about this. Good Luck and God Bless.

Most religions require that ministers of that religion adhere to church doctrine. And this is obviously a pretty big issue for your church, or they wouldn't have done it. On the other hand, it may have just been an excuse because the other pastor didn't like him. You'll never know. What you have to decide is whether this church is still a fit for you or not

Each denomination or church body has a statement of faith. If the youth pastor signed on in contradiction to the statement of faith, such as to the gospel or baptism, then he is in a way in breach of contract. Its like this. We as a church body believe this. And along comes a person who wants to be a youth pastor. He tells the elders that he believes their statement of faith. And they hire him or allow him to be the youth pastor. All of a sudden, he starts teaching according to what he believes and not according to what the church statement of faith is. Right or wrong, he is in breach of contract. He lied. Or he has come to a difference of opinion of the statement of faith of the church body. He can literally cause the church to be divided. And Jesus said Himself. That a house divided against itself cannot stand. He must leave. (right or wrong)

Churches have the right to decide what they want taught within their walls. The bigger question is: should you prehaps be considering another church if you are so thoroughly disgusted with the behavior of this one?

That's religion for you; might as well learn it now. It's the same attitude that leads to wars, suicide bombings, etc.
