My boyfriend rarely shows emotion and I always feel like its him not caring...but he says he cares. I just feel like sometime he doesnt care.

guys don't show emotion because they think that it will make them look weak. It's like we expect them to be buff and stong...and they just accept that. Now, they think it is thei responsibilitie to hold all their emotions in.

when kids are little the boys are told be a man, dont cry like a girl. they are encouraged to work out their emotions ('go kick a ball') rather than talk about feelings, especially negative ones. so they express neither the negative nor positive but rather talk sports and politics.
girls are all hugged up thru their lives, encouraged to keep mum as a confidant and given more space to act 'just like a girl'. they can be as silly as they like, have mood swings and blame it on PMS.
no wonder men cannot show emotion. learn from him when he says he cares, in the way he looks at u, in the stuff he does with u and for u. that is how a person who has been told not to be a sissy shows his love.

im a guy so hopefully i help lol. I find from my personal experience that guys arent willing to open up and show emotion as they try to stay strong. It is a stereotype for guys not to show emotion and maybe he is concerned if a friend found out or mate. I was dumped by a girl because i wasnt very open with her although we had a good relationship that lasted 6 months.
And like someone said you better be ready to take him on in bed

it's alwayslike that. Im a guy and same with your guy, I rarely show my emotions and the reason is i also dont know, maybe it's a matter of men is always emotionless.

We don't like to show emotion because we aren't females, we know how to handle it like a man, if ur bf showed ur emotion u better be ready to catch him in bed with big jim from the local jailhouse

Guys by nature are not emotional beings, that's their difference between us, the only gauge i have with my guy is how much time he is willing to spare with me, for i believe that the very essence of LOVE is SACRIFICE, & by sacrificing his valuable time for me he is showing he does care a lot for me... :)

In our society men are taught two emotions: anger and nothing.
Emotions can be developed but it takes a special guy to introspect seriously.

well it is way we boys are made.girls and boys are quite different .we are less emotional creature, so try to adjust with this behaviour.
