#1I say go with the PS2 I own both systems but prefer the PS2 since PS3 doesnt have alot of good games right now.

#2 No sony will keep making games through 2008 & beyond there making more off the PS2 than the PS3 right now.

#3 No you wont PS2 is a great system ive had mine since launch day and it always kept me entertained.

#4 It doesnt have mp3 support unless you mean like mp3's burned to CD then yea but it supports many other things tho (Sony PS2 Eyetoy Camera,Keyboards,Mouses,Flash Drives,DVD,CD,PS2 and PS1 game support,DVD Remote,USB Steering Wheel (for racing games)

#5 A slim model is very thin and it has no hard drive bay in the back of it and it has a flip top lid.The original PS2 is a bit bigger and says PS2 in big bold blue/purple letters on top and has a DVD tray and hard drive bay in the back.They are working on a new model PS2 right now which will retail for $100 and it may be out by the beginning of 2008.

1. Since a PS3 isn't in your budget, I think that you should get a PS3, but all you really have to do is save money little by little and the PS3 is yours.

2. Yes, Sony will stop making games for the PS3. Really, the only game developers that are still making PS2 games now are 3rd party developers. Sony developers have already stopped making games for the PS3.

3. I think that if you buy a PS2 right now, you wont be wasting money because there was over 2000 games released for the PS2, but the only downside is that most stores have stopped carrying the majority of PS2 games and most older PS2 games aren't even made anymore, so you will have to get a lot of games online.

4. The PS2 supports DVD and CD playback, but I don't think that it supports MP3 playback.

5. The slim PS2 is very small and thin. The regular PS2 is a lot bigger. The price of the PS2 in the U.S. is $129 and I doubt that the prices will go down. The price of the PS2 in India is Rs. 7000.

But to me, really I think that you should save up for a PS3. If you get the 60GB or 80GB PS3 you can play Playstation 1, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3 games, so really you get a lot all in one. I have a PS3, and believe me, it's worth the price, but if you simply don't want to spend that much for a console, then go for the PS2.

One of the main factor in choosing the right game console is GAME TITTLES and the game type of your personal preference.

I owned a PS2 is because I am a strong fan of Final Fantasy (Since FF7). The other reason I bought PS2 is because of the avail tittles that they have.

However, Sony have been struggling for more than a year on PS3. Late player, limited games, struggling to get the right price point etc...

Another factor is the Chip-mod (Modified console). This underground factor also play a very important role in the buying.

1. neither. PS2 don't have much tittle like Assassin's Creed. Should go for X360 (In terms of latest tittles, performance);

2. No. They will continue to have tittles for PS2 until they solve the current PS3 challenge;

3. Not really. If you are ok with the current more than 500 tittles.

4. only modified PS2 (illegal) can play MP3. But again, why you need PS2 to play MP3?

5. Sonny only produce slim version. You should check out the web via Google for latest version (make sure is the latest, cause some new tittles of game can't play on old PS2).

All the best and welcome the world of game console
