Europe was ruled for 1000 years by theocracy.
It failed.
That's one reason why our founding fathers created this secular nation.

As a Christian, I would say, yes ... North America will experience what Europe had experienced. Why? Because human nature never changes, and the record of history is predictable re: "History repeats it self" ! "Religion" per sec, is a product of human nature (that's why it is always consistent within history). "Religion" is what caused the Founder of Christianity [Jesus Christ], to be murdered. Will history repeat it self ... you betcha ! Will the "religious" persecute the true-genuine Christians, ultimately ... a second you betcha ! Can we conclude that "religion" and "Christianity" are two, entire, separate "entities" ... for sure !!!

Two different things, with two different problems.
America is going through a culture change in principals and values. Europe, on the other hand, turned with rage against their rulers, which where at the time religious in their nature.

You mean can we compare modern America with the Albegensian Crusade? The Burning of Protestants? The execution of Catholics? The Thirty Years War? The expelling of the Jews from multiple countries? Um, no, I don't.
Hope that put things into perspective.

Wow if you are trying to claim that europe is more socially evolved then the US you have got to do a lot better than that.
The US does a much much much better job living peacefully with other religions, cultures, and races side by side than europe and we did it in a few hundred years while they have had literally thousands of years to get it right.
Sorry, your entire premise is incredibly flawed.

All I know is that many of the 'religious' are attempting to draw the U.S. back to the middle ages...and even further retrogression, if and when possible.
