I have been friends with an ex-boyfriend of mine for years. We always loved eachother, but for various reasons it just never worked out. Well, one of his best friends started to take an interest in me. Now he's aggressively persuing me. I'm really interested in him, but now the ex is really showing an interest in me too! I don't want to lose my ex's friendship. I really want to date the new guy. The ex is so pissed at the his friend that he won't even talk to him. The new guy won't go any further with me until he can assure he has his friend back... I'm stuck in the middle and the only thing I cant do is try and make nicey nice. To top it off, the new guy won't see me because he doesn't want to hurt his friend, but he wants me to continue buttering up my ex so that he will "somehow" be all right with this. The way I see it, there will never be any way my he will be all right with it!!! Uggghh... Anyone have a similar story in not so many words??? I'd love to hear about it...

stay out of triangles. it was hard enough dealing with your ex as a single person, now you have double the trouble, and not only does it effect you but each of them.....

the new guy should stop. He knows how it effects his friend and friends don't do that, plus he's manipulating the situation and his friend....

sounds like a real A hole to me.

do you really want him to end up buttering you up too?

I have been in a kinda similar situation, it all came to a head at my birthday where they were all their together.

I think sometimes you have to take a backseat and let things happen, sometimes it is just out of your control.

You are lucky to know what you want though... that's the hardest thing.
