water pills, aka diuretics, are intended to help people rid themselves of water retained by their bodies due to any number of medical issues, like a bad heart or insufficient kidneys. There are risks to taking them, they rob you of potassium and other nutrients, so most people who use diuretics also need to take supplements to replace what the medications rob them of. NO, they are not for weight loss, weight is FAT, not water. And if you rob your body of the water it needs, you slow your metabolic rate and the fat stays right where it is.

Well your body is mostly water so when you take water pills you lose alot of water, it makes you urinate alot. Which essentially causes you to lose weight, ( water weight). Things like hydroxycut are water pills, and even though you will lose weight , you're not losing any fat, and it can be really hard on your kidneys. So the only time I could ever consider using them is possibly before an event in which you needed to slim down a little bit quickly but I wouldnt' make a habit of it or recommend it. And it does nothing good for your health.

I don't even know what water pill is.

If you want to lose your body fat(weight) though, the only way is by having healthy diet and proper excercise. There is no alternative.

Healthy diet isn't eating only celery or watermelon... or not having any carbs....

They pull the water weight off, but it not healthy if you are doing it without the supervision of a doctor. You can deplete your potassium and it can cause heart problems.

"water pills" are given to Patients with CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) that do to their weak hearts not pumping their blood well enough they tend to get swelling in their feet. (Pedal Edema)

The Diuretic is given to make the kidneys absorb more water so the patient will pee it out.
