I want to be able to swear when I ask a question or answer one. Sometimes a strategically placed curse word can add emphasis and feeling to a statement. Please let us swear...

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. Just yesterday, I wanted to use I think the "F" word but I had to substitute it. Not quite the same meaning. Kinda blows really.

Well, I believe that cursing can be a rude and vulgar practice. However, I also believe that if you want to curse for reasons other than you Want to be rude or vulgar, that it loses it's harshness and becomes just a word. If you say what the hell, and mean it without saying hell just to curse, that it doesn't carry the same rudeness.
I hope this makes sense to you. It made more sense in my head.
^-^

Do I swear? Every f***ing day! (Yes, I curse, and I'm a grown woman and I can say whatever the hell I want.)(But I don't curse around little kids, unless by accident.)

I don't think we should be able to swear on here, though, because this isn't an adult only forum, and I'm sure there are parents who don't want that kind of language used in front of their kids, and I think we should respect that.

You speak as you wish. I was raised by agnostic parents that you don't have to curse to get your point across. Since becoming a Christian in my teens I have found no need to use that type of language. I can express myself without using that language. I guess it is all on how you see the language you chose to use.

No, the only things I say can be found on regular tv (Comedy Central at late night not included), I don't include the worst two, or few, in my vocabulary.

Hee hee.

My mother once referred to swearing as "those pithy Anglo-Saxon expressions which fell out of use with the Norman invasion." That's always stuck with me. They do have their place, don't they?
