"Hell" is another term (from the Greek word "hades" meaning "hole" or "grave"), which is very often misapplied by religious folk to describe a place where "lost souls" spend eternity in a ever-burning fire, upon death. Did you know that Jesus Christ went to "hell" when He died ? (Read it in the K.J. version of the Bible re: Book of Acts, chapter 2, verse 27). Obviously, this is not true and this passage is evidently, a mistranslation. "Souls" likewise, are not some entity within a person, which leaves them when he or she dies. This too, is a misconception thrown around by religious folk. A immortal soul is not "immortal" and can die (see: Ezekiel, chapter 18, verse 20). The word "soul" comes from the Hebrew word "nephesh" meaning "breath" - it is the life-breath within us all . It is used to mean the human being, him or her self ... not an immortal spirit within us. Only Jesus Christ is immortal (see: First book of Timothy, chapter 6, verse 16) God stated, "From dust you came and to dust you will return when you die." Nothing about going anywhere but to the grave when you die. In other words, the human IS the "soul". Job, a servant of God, asked the question concerning AFTER death, (see: Book of Job, chapter 14, verse 14). Notice; "I will wait until my change comes", is Job's answer. Wait where ? .... In the grave !

No. Hell is not a place and does not exist. Hell has its origin with the Greek word Hades and the Hebrew word Sheol. The idea of a hell of torment stems from ancient Babylon. All the ideas of what hell looks like comes from Dante Alighieri who wrote his famous poem entitled Divine Comedy where he named the first part of it Inferno. He pictured the “Inferno” as a deep pit with gradually contracting circles on which the condemned human souls suffered after the death of the body. These types of ideas are still among us, but are by no means true. So again, there is no such thing as hell where people that are evil go. Just think about it. Logically it would be irrational to think that it is possible to go anywhere after we die but 10 feet under; that is where we deteriorate. We don't go anywhere. In my opinion, churches use hell to scare society into being good people.

Hell is the place reserved for those not found in the Book of Life on the Day of Judgment. Personally I think mankind has yet to be judged, but others disagree. I go by the time scale set by the the Book of Revelations, but even that reading is interpretive. However, the devil is not the ruler of hell, he is just another of the condemned. According to the Bible he still walks the Earth, at least until the Second Coming of Christ. By the christen standard all who reject God, break the Mosaic law once and do not ask for the forgiveness of the cross, end up there.

Hell. Sheol or Hades. Get a shovel, bypass outdoors and dig a six foot deep hollow. Gehenna - The lake of hearth. No i won't teach that one. yet i've got faith that's the stunning place of judgment by way of fact God mentioned. BTW - that is a place of eternal punishment - no longer punishing. people who're solid in do merely never exist returned.

1-Yes.
2-Yes.
3-No.
4-Not very plesant!
5-The Bible.
6-People who reject God's gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ.
7-Because God is a just God and cannot "tolerate" evil to be in His presence. You see... hell is not only a place, it is a state of being... a state of being "outside" of God's presence. Therefore, where God is not, there hell is. Where God IS, is called heaven. God did not create heaven nor hell, they both existed as long as God has existed... for eternity. They both exist "by default" because God exists.
Have a blesse day.

Yes, the Greek Hades, Hebrew Sheol is where the unsaved dead go when they die. After the White Throne Judgment they will be sent to Gehenna also called the Lake of Fire, "And those not found in the Book of Life were cast into The Lake of Fire."

Hell was written about in a book written about 2,000 years ago. Basically it's a place where the people in the story go after they die. Only the bad people end up there, though. The ones who are good end up in heaven.
I've read parts of this book, it's got some interesting chapters but mostly it's boring. It's written in really complicated, grammatically incorrect form. I suppose it's a good read, though, if you have a lot of time to play around with.

Hell is nothing more than the common grave of mankind. Jonah after being swallowed by the big fish(whale in some publications) prayed to God and was said to be praying from the belly of Hell, I'm quite sure that that fish's belly was no place of fiery torment but would have been Jonah's final resting place so to speak.

The ONLY Hell that exists is the one we create for ourselves here on Earth. There is no Eternal Hell after death, that is a MYTH created to scare people into submission! GOD is a compassionate entity that IS Love, that entity would not send any other being to an eternity of suffering.

I do not pretend to know about like the place with fire, Satan and all of that but, I know I lived a life of pure Hell in my drinking and drugging days. If it is worse than that, I pray to my dear God I don't go there!
