how do i get over some one?

i have liked the same guy for 2 years. Nothing ever happened between us except we liked each other for a short period of time. I've been trying to get over him because I'm almost certain nothing will happen. Well, nothing works. I've tried making myself like other guys but it doesn't work. I keep going back to liking him. Is there any way I can forget about him and get on with my life? Why do i keep on going back to liking him? Detailed advice would be helpful. Thank you all for your help.

Many years ago I got divorce from my wife I'm some times thinking and some times I have dreams about her.Why?. I wish I can tell you,but the answer is far Way for me and for other people. I think is human nature and the way that we have in our brain some kind of files or whatever, since she is there and she will be for ever.Sucks, big time, I know,but nothing can be done.Welcome to the club.
